I haven't bought a PC game in so long, but this game I was excited about years ago.  Anyone have any impressions about it?

Ran just fine 1280x1024 (everything max settings) with my system specs in my sig, but with a 7600GT card instead of current. Running one 8600 card gives me higher fps (2nd one on the way in mail) even though the drivers aren't anywhere near optimized yet. It is definitely one of those games you need to have the graphics set at max to enjoy or else it looks like a shooter from 2-3 years ago.

Yeah, Stalker took a long time to be released, and it kind of shows. It looks like a really snazzed up Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Seriously. The models in the games are blocky and overall just not well done. The textures are pretty good, but not fantastic.

If you're a graphics snob, you'll be dissapointed. If you care more about gameplay than eye candy, you should love the heck out of this game.

My AMD 64 3000, 1GB of ram and 6600GT 128MB ran the game just fine. The details were pretty medium. I remember the texture detail was above normal, so was the object detail. Ran pretty smooth actually and it didn't look awful either.

My system is pretty low spec by todays cutting edge standards

I have :

875P-800 FSB Mobo-

socket 478 -2.8 ghz P4,

1GB DDR400 RAM

AGP powercolor x1950

420 gb HD

In order for the game to run smooth during intense moments of action (when it most counts), visual quality has to be highly compromised. virtually all settings must be set to off or low and resolutions set to a min of 1024X768 for frame rates to be constant.

but i noted that the graphics are not that great even when the settings are all maxed and tricked to thier top limits. it all feels dated and highly de-optimized. ive seen 1.5 gb games miles ahead in every field (besides inefficiency) 10 gb!!!!what is going on here!? Silverfall is huge too but at least its beautiful..

Indeed this game is not for graphics snobs or those who are into instant action either for that matter (like me). you have to go through lots o RPG type of crap before you finally get to shoot some sh*t. I guess its a good game for people who want to feel "involved in the plot and make wise decisions after hard dilemas". these people apparantly can afford to waste thier pathetic lives..  I think im going to uninstall it from my computer. anybody want my copy?

I'm playing it with Celeron 3Ghz, 1 Gig of ram and Geforce 5200fx graphic card, which even isn't included in support list.. and the game runs fine on medium graphics.
