Mirrors edge looks better than crysis

urban environments are easier to do, throw in some plants in mirrors edge and boom the frames will die.

But I do think it looks very good, nice and clean. Makes me lick my chops for BF3.

I'm pretty sure that's the case. Plus the screenshots alone are enough to convince someone of how beautiful the graphics are. I've heard some people have mistaken some of Crysis' screenshots for reality.

I agree it looks good and clean but it doesnt even have half the depth of Crysis' visuals.

ITs all good, the gameplay looks pretty sweet and unique. First Portal, now Mirror's Edge...I am glad to see these unconventional FPSs coming out.

Evidentally, you're an extreme minority with that opinion, TC (I.E., you're weird). And I agree with the masses; Mirror's Edge is pretty, but pathetic in comparison to Crysis.

screenshots are nothing compared to live gameplay... id dare say crysis, when well tweaked, looks real close to reality...

Mirror's Edge obviously doesn't look as good as Crysis & Warhead.. but DICE has achieved a great visual quality with this game. They're not aiming for Photorealism.. which Crysis almost does. But they have a great lighting & blur effects which makes it look like an animated movie. See this video here & you'll be impressed even more by the beautiful urban enviroment they've shown here. looks great but why is it all about running ? if the guy playing in the video tried to explore the enviroment & shoot a few weapons to make it look like a fps... you'd start noticing small small flaws in graphics. The textures are very bad that's why it's on consoles too. but sun lighting looks incredible. When you're comparing two games visually, Crysis is very different from others. it achieves 10/10 in almost every aspect. You wouldn't see any game being visually so perfect.. not so soon.

It also looks horribly linear. Everyone is talking up the visuals, what about the level design?!!biggest_loser

And yes the graphics look great fresh and clean but I still think that crysis is better kooking, if you compare them in all kinds of way graphically I think crysis would win.

But in gameplay I think mirrors edge wins =). And maybe story but I cant really say that yet =).

People are hyping this game up, but so far it looks like just a First Person Platformer. Conventional is the word.

The story looks like something taken from V for Vendetta. I saw that clip on GS giving a bit of background to the world. The voice acting didn't even match the look of the main character. Mrs. Jumpy.

As far as i know its using CRYENGINE 2 so...

EDIT: ohh it looks like they are using UE3,if they use UE3 than there is no way it will look bether than Crysis and imo original Crysis > Warhead,warhead just look more attractive

It's using Frostbite game engine... the one that powered Battlefield:Badcompany. created by EA Digital Illusions CE.

This is the third thread I have seen today with "X looks better than Crysis" in the title...

Peoples need to outdo Crysis with their preferred title is reaching the level of fanaticism, it should be clear that no console or cross platform titles will ever outdo Crysis this generation.

i have seen them and they are nothing special. Crysis screens looks better and it only gets better in motion.

but dont get me wrong mirror edge still looks good as do the other games using UE3 but they cant compete with crysis. As for second best looking game i would say Stalker clear sky.
