Mirrors Edge PC

Is it true that Mirrors Edge on the PC is coming out on the 5th December.

I got an e-mail from Game about it, if so im cancelling my preorder.

...ill probably preorder closer to the time but thats besides the point :p

In case i dont have money in my account, e.g. Fallout 3 just out, COD 5 coming out, L4D coming out, its an expensive month lol.

But is it true, i thought it was all going to be released on all platforms at the same time.

I think the pc version is going out on early 2009biltros

I wouldn't get this game anyway. I don't think its going to be as great as people say. biggest_loser

A demo close to the release of the PC version would do a lot to calm any fears I have about the quality of Mirror's Edge. I plan to buy it regardless because I have faith in Dice. I do wish PC was getting it at the same time as the 360 and PS3 but so long as the porting is up to par I don't mind. As it has been stated it is a very busy time right now for game buying so delaying a game will actually help us all afford to buy what we want.

While it is very uncommon compared to years past we still get some demos here and there. We just get far less demos than the consoles do.

Actually your are a courier of information in a totalitarian soceity who must evade government forces. It is interesting to me because there are few, if any, first person platformers that allow you to to perform martial arts and leaps all in a first person view.

EA said it is still coming out in "winter", which could mean anytime from the console release date until the end of next february/march, unfortunately..-Feath-

Yeah I would expect Mirror's Edge to come out closer to the end of winter than sooner. I won't cry, too much buying going on right now :)

I dont see why people are knocking the game, i played the demo on the 360 and its really good and different.

However that doesnt mean it instantly matches up to the greats like UT3, Fallout 3 and soon to be L4D

I am disappointed though about the release date, whatever happened to that massive push on PC gaming, its gone down the pot.

The delayed release date for the PC version is the main reason I see the game getting knocked by those who haven't even played it. The busy gaming schedule of many aside, PC gamers want to be able to buy their copy of a game at the same time that other gamers can buy it and when they are told that they can't do so without any reason given, let alone a good one, it tends to make people bitter and angry.

I wouldn't get this game anyway. I don't think its going to be as great as people say. biggest_loser

Why did you hate it ? I don't own a 360 or a PS3 so I can't try it.

PC games on multiple configs are tougher to make, and to do well. Takes more time. There's a simple-ish reason that's been given a bunch of times. But yeah, as I noted before, this is DICE. Battlefield! They know PC's and PC gaming pretty well, so I'd trust they know what they're doing one way or another.Makari

Yes but has Dice said that about Mirror's Edge ? That has been said before by many people about many games but has Dice said thta about this game ? The gamers have been given no reason they have to wait from the makers which is pretty wrong to do to people who yuo want to buy your product.

The demo i played on 360 was pretty good. Ill definatly be keeping an eye on this game.

But i have a feeling i will either LOVE it, or HATE it.

I played through the 360 demo twice and I kinda have mixed feelings about it. I mean, I love the art-styIe, the game truly looks beautiful and I even enjoyed the core gameplay. It has a certain speed and flow to it that is simply mesmerizing - BUT - it seems to be a game heavily depending on trial and error which is something I personally loathe. If you screw up you not only have to repeat a section, but it effectively shatters the flow of the game and your immersion. I also think that the controls on PC could be better if done right due to the mouse making movement even faster and hopefully easier.

I don't think I'll be getting this at full price, but it's definitely something I would want to play through. It's too unique to pass up - both artistically and gameplay-wise.

I think it should be in December if its any later i wont be buying the game for sure.

I just get put off games which are out on other consoles but not on the platform you want, it becomes an old game in my books. And obviously early 09 is saved for FEAR 2 which will ROCK!

Also whoever said DICE know there PC games, BF2142 was buggy as hell, took long enuf to get it working on Vista. Nevertheless a good game.
