Mission progression in Warfighter

I wonder if I'll play the next mission from the mission selection tab in the singleplayer (and not choose the "continue campaign") and finish it, will it unlock the next mission? will I be forwarded to the next mission fluidly like in the campaign? Even with the latest patch the game just keeps crashing and sometimes won't load the next mission no matter what..

you'll always start from the last checkpoint: if you finish one mission and the game successfully saves, you will be able to start/ unlock the next mission. if the game crashes during the saving process from one mission to the next, you'll have to do the end portion of the previous mission to unlock the next.
