Had read in a games magazine some while ago that a ex-blizzard employe sliped a few words about something called Project Hidra. Whatever that isTempest92
oh u mean hydra as in hydralisk LOL world of starcraft who called it how unorigional....
Where's the poll choice, "I don't like RPGs" ?Oxilica
Or the, "I couldn't care less about another generic Blizzard MMORPG" choice?
I don't think we need another MMORPG from Blizzard. It'll likely be a re-skinned WoW (sort of like many MMOs of today).GodLovesDeadwhy would they bother to create another WoW when its already the most successful game on the planet? makes no sense to me and blizzard has hinted that their next MMO will be a new IP completely different from WoW.

It'll likely be a re-skinned WoW (sort of like many MMOs of today).GodLovesDeadFirst of all their job postings for their secret game have never actually said "MMORPG" as far as I know. They've merely merely said "MMO". It could basically be any game that is online and has a lot of players as far as anyone outside of Blizzard is concerned. Second of all, they have stated quite explicitly that it was not related to World of Warcraft.
creating the ultimate MMO is definitly withing Blizzard's reach...
they have the title, the franchise and the muscles, but they should stop being arrogant and learn from smaller companies like CCP (eVe online).
they should learn :
- that there is a big slice of PC gamers who really really hate old gen graphics.
- that having a real player driven realistic offer/demand in game economy is a must for any MMO to be taken seriously.
- that star-craft fan base are mostly in their 30s.
- that a ONE server architecture is a BIG BIG plus and something to brag about.
- that a patch can actually have better graphics in it ! and that updates are not only limited to content.
- that having the best revenues does not necessarily mean you have the best game.
Starcraft online could be a MEGA HIT game that will change the map and the future of the mmo genre. but if they just opt to make it a space WoW... then thats a diffrent story.
