Hi, I'm getting a new laptop soon and was wondering what mmo is a good trial game to give a shot. I've never played one before and thought they looked real fun. Any sugestions?

most all MMOs offer 10+ day trials, so i would try a few before making a decision, since you'll most likely have to pay a monthly fee to play whatever game you choose...unless of course, you want to pay monthly fees for more than 1 game a month, which can add up. they're all sort of the same, but here's a few of the most popular ones which cost money to play: Age of Conan, World of Warcraft, Warhammer Guild Wars is free I believe. actually, just follow this link for pricing guide and suggestions: http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfmHi, I'm getting a new laptop soon and was wondering what mmo is a good trial game to give a shot. WoW and Wahammer Online are both good games. i also played guildwars for along time, if you're looking for something without a monthly fee.
Whatever you do, do not start with EVE. It's a fantastic game but not one for a newcomer. I'd personally go with Lord of the Rings Online.RK-MaraI agree with LOTRO, but make sure your laptop can handle it.... Also of course WoW, great game even better if you can make friends and quest with them....
only rpg mmo? what aboutn a nice, freemmo shooter...
try subagame´s Crossfire in that case, but remember... it´s headshot or nothing
oh, subagames has a couple of other games too, some rpg and one is a kind of flying simulator, all of them free
I personally refuse to pay a monthly fee for an mmo so I'm a big fan of guild wars; you can definitely get a free trial of that somewhere and all you'd have to do to play the full game is buy the software. It's quite a bit different than the average mmo though, so if you want the traditional mmorpg experience of "omg i played for over 9000 hours and i'm level 100 now i'll wtfpwn all you n00bs" you should look elsewhere.
try the new Chronicles of Spellborn, its pretty scaleable, and doesnt require a fee until after lvl 7. Eve Online is sweet, but def not for the newbie. Age of Conan is gonna rock the sox of ur laptop, graphics are pretty intense, and LotR Online is very nice. Eq2 has done some great things as of late and is pretty scaleable as well. Maybe u should make sure ur laptop can handle the whole "graphics" thing b4 u dedicate urself to the suckage that is MMO's.
Sorry not everyone is poor like you. Its worth the 15$ a month if its actually a good game. GW is not a good mmo its more linear and just an rpg you play online more so then an mmo. LOTRO is very fun as well ^^.I personally refuse to pay a monthly fee for an mmo so I'm a big fan of guild wars; you can definitely get a free trial of that somewhere and all you'd have to do to play the full game is buy the software.
