mobo and graphics card question for new rig

ok im buying a new pc...i dont have time to build one. my price range is 1500-2000.is there a big difference in a NIVIDIA 750I MOBO and a NIVIDIA 790I MOBO? what graphics card should i get the nividia 280gtx or the ATI radeon hd 4870X2 if its only 100 more then the 280gtx? and my last question is can i use an ATI card with a NIVIDIA MOBO?

1. Yes, the 750i is DDR2, the 790i is DDR3. I wouldn't recommend either, personally, but both are generally as good as eachother.
2. I'd go for the GTX 280 over the HD4870X2. It's cheaper, runs cooler and quieter and with an nVidia motherboard you can SLI them if you want to later on.
3. Yes, you can use an ATI GPU in an nVidia motherboard and vice versa. However, you can't CrossFireX two or more ATI GPUs in an nVidia motherboard. If you want to get more GPUs in the future to increase your graphics processing power, stick to nVidia for nVidia motherboarda and ATI for Intel motherboards. If not, don't worry - the GTX 280 and the HD4870X2 are both reasonably powerful without having to think about more than one.
