hey i just bought the

ECS IC780M-A AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

a video card amd 2.9 dual core cpu ect...

and 4 gigs of pqi ram. however, when i plug everything in my pc for the first time and turn it on i get a black screen saying "no signal". I know its not the video card caus i take that same video card and put it in a nother mobo and it works like it should. The video card works good. So its either the mobo or the mobo / ram compatibility. Now heres my question... In the manual it has all the types of ram and brands that "have been tested" for that mobo, and the pqi ram is not one of them. you think that could be the caus of a pc with no video? Everything else works like it should but no video "no signal". Or should i jsut get another mobo? thanks!

The pc speaker is connected but when i turn it on it does not beep. I ahve tryed just one stick and nothing changes. Also... i am able to turn it on with the power button but am unable to turn it off by holding down the power button (aka hard shut down) I have to flip the switch in the back to shut it off. Are you thinking its the mobo?

You might try no ram at all and see if you get any beeps. Most mb will give some sort of diagnostic beep I think if there is no ram. If still no beeps seems like it may be your motherboard. If all else fails you could take it out of your case, strange as it seems i've had that fix things, perhaps a short somewhere... (try powering it up outside the case) You should also try unpluging any peripherals such as hard drives, soundcard, etc...

If it beeps with no ram, your motherboard just might not like that ram for some reason. You might see if you can find what diagnostic beeps mean, and if its a ram error your motherboard is probably ok, do you have any other ram you could try in it?

sorry i have no other ram. but even with no ram no beeps come from the mobo.
