Just came out of a game with some kiddie (Steam name "dainazinas") who was clearly cheating. Can't really do much either since there's no dedicated servers which would ensure better protection against cheating kids.

So, what was he doing?
At first I thought it was a wallhack but then we realized it seems to be an aimbot with no recoil too. I found out the hack is available for public download after people pay for it.Of course there are cheaters already, check youtube and you will find heaps of hacker footage. As fun as this game is, I don't think it will last too long because the hackers pretty much can't be banned or kicked from games.
MW2 has pirates on multiplayer already too ;) RehehellyI thought the fact that it went through a steam server avoids pirates?

You'll have to wait 2-3 weeks till VAC bans their accounts then they won't be able to play MP at all... forget specific servers.
There are many VAC bypasses available and even if they do get banned, there is always a workaround. You'll have to wait 2-3 weeks till VAC bans their accounts then they won't be able to play MP at all... forget specific servers.

There were wallhacks and aimbots available from day one, so I don't know why this is a surprise to anyone.
Dedicated servers works against hackers in two ways: it lets the administrators the power to ban/kick cheaters and since these servers usually are played by the same community is more easier to detect new cheaters, because between regular members there's some sense of respect and fair play if you were playing the same people for months. With IWNET none of those dissuasive methods are available.
There's going to be cheaters in any MP game. biggest_loserObviously, but the point is if we can't ban em you can toss them out. There are groups out there that have banlists. Like for Americas Army. When a dedicated server in this group finds a hacker they report it and ban him. Now hes banned on all dedicated servers in this group.

yea but good games have dedicated servers with admins that can ban cheaters. See where MW2 went wrong yet? Cheaters run riot with no recourse.
Yeah, I heard that too.[QUOTE="thusaha"][QUOTE="Rehehelly"]MW2 has pirates on multiplayer already too ;) BDL91
sorry guys but pirates were on mw2 a week beforeit was released
Wut? Had to wait for it to be activated by steam... and cracked. Took like.. the night of the release. but yeah MP has been cracked already so the whole no dedicated servers working against piracy (as a little biproduct) failed.[QUOTE="BDL91"][QUOTE="thusaha"]Yeah, I heard that too.Rehehelly

I guess dedicated server for pirate version will be out soon.Oh yeah. I've encountered them already too. I see the replay and he's aiming at me from across the map before he can even see me, then shoots me as soon as he's got a clear path. His score was like 20-3 and thats hard to achieve when everyone is just learning the maps and layout.
