Modern Warfare 2 worth the buy?

I mainly want it for spec ops and single player, but I will look into the multiplayer for a bit afterward. I'm wondering if it stands on its own for single player, I did actually play through the Call of duty 4 single player about 4 times before getting a bit bored.

Only if you have friends to play online with. Otherwise you'll regret it.

Kinda a waste of money just for the single player and spec ops. MW2 is the only game in my life i have done in a single sitting....its very very short. Was very fun though, i have to admit. I was glad it was just a rental though.

Multiplayer is good Sp is short but great moment as well Sops is alight too

Do not buy this game. Activision fired the original devs of Infinity Ward and won't pay up what they're owed. Activision can go to hell.

Depends how much it is. If you can get it a bit cheaper then it might be a good purchase. The SP campaign is relatively short but it has some inspired, cinematic moments and it is a tougher campaign than 4. You can also try out the MP as long as you don't play with a party. The party organisation mechanics are poor.

Don't support companies like Ifinity Ward. If you want to get it, buy it used for a console.

Its a good deal of fun, but its relatively flawed, and I can hardly stand the online anymore.

My take on the Modern Warfare 2 debate: its both overrated and underrated. Overrated in that it is not the greatest game ever, and it has many apparent flaws (as one can tell when they are being killed more by knives in a first person shooter game); underrated in the sense that it is actually a good deal of fun for an amount of time. I still regret paying sixty for it though...

I'm mostly a single player kinda guy. I bought BC expecting a great singleplayer and multiplayer, and while I do like the multiplayer I was pretty disapointed by the single player portion.JangoWuzHere

I see. Modern Warfare 2's was ... ok, I suppose. Compared to 4, it is a much poorer campaign, at least to me. There are parts that just don't *work* and on whole it's an unsatisfying affair. I felt no desire to replay it, as I had with 4. It has its moments for sure though, and I know there are those who love it, but it just didn't do it for me.

It's decent. but it does get boring fairly quickly for a online fps.

I say false to your claim that 'this game is def worth the buy' because it isn't true. Also, the other CoD games are much better than this one, everyone knows it. And the people who say this game sucks are not saying that because they are 'bad at playing games'... DasVolks

Anyways I think this game is good fun, the SP is ok, SpecOps is great fun with friends and the multiplayer is solid even if it is P2P and is good fun to just jump in and out of when you have some free time.

Hackers are about as much of a problem as they are in any other MP FPS game on the PC so there's not much to complain about there.

I bought it on pc for about 40-41$ including shipping brand new from amazon.com, would i say its worth that price (40), ehh, idk its pushing it, (but i have yet to get to the single player part of it so i could be in for a treat.)

Single Player is short and the story is terrible. Online is broken. Spec-Ops is good, but not worth $60. I'd say maybe wait until it is $20, but judging by the price of CoD 4 it will never hit that price.

I'm not sure if it's worth it for SP and Spec Ops. But the multi is very fun. I have countless hours into this game, and I think I played SP for all of 10 minutes or so.

I liked the SP though is fairly epic, but is like 3hrs long...
