Ok, so it's been a few days and the mods are starting to roll out. Lets post some mods that we think are cool or enhance the game. The game is great as is but that shouldn't stop us from seeing what the mod community comes up with.

I think a really good one is this.

No more blocky faces. This mod gets rid of the texture artifacts on the faces of the characters that make them look blocky around the nose and chin.

Most of the mods are just rubbish. Some of them I really struggled to see any difference in texture wise. I just have the cursor one and the PS3 button icons.

Unless it's something I would need to fix a major blemish in the game, then I'll be playing my first playthrough without mods. You can bet I'll be playing this game again with mods the second and third time around though. :) Thanks for the heads up mate.

Same here. I want my first playthrough to be as pure as possible. On my subsequent playthroughs, I expect mods and console abuse. :P

I've been using;

-Skyrim Sunglare(really makes exploring in the day more satisfying)

-Enhanced Night Skyrim(looking at the night sky with the aurora in full effect looks incredible)

-Enhanced Blood Textures

-Improved Dragon Textures

-Detailed Faces & No More Blocky Faces

-Antiallias and sharpen effect(I don't know why but I really like this effect in the game)

-Aggressive Bloody Draugr(changes the Draugr skin to have some more blood on it)

-and of course, INI tweaks. So many INI tweaks.

Wait for the big name mod makers from Morrowind and Oblivion to start rolling out their mods. Will most likely take a few weeks or months. Also, planetelderscrolls may be the better site, unless they moved it over to Skyrim Nexus. You could vote on various mods and the site even did Hall of Fame mods, which made it very easily to identify which mods are recommended.

TESnexus (assuming it's the predecessor to skyrimnexus) also had hall of fame and top 100 list and many other ways to filter the mods.

Ah, that's right. I remember using TESNexus, but I guess my preference leaned more towards the other site. No real reason though.

How's Skyrim Sunglare and Antiallias and sharpen effect? There are no good comparision-pics. And I'm also unsure about Enchanced blood...

I upload a bunch of mods from skyrim which are all in the correct folder. I put them in a rar file for smaller upload size. All you have to do is extract the rar file then paste the data folder in the same directory as your Skyrim data folder and it will merged with that folder. Then copy every thing in the second folder from the extracted rar file and paste it into the same directory as your TESV.exe file. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OVXQW1PA Also forgot to add this with it so here is a separate link. It's the Skyrim config file which add self shadows to trees and a few other things. Just move the SkyrimPrefs.ini file into the directory My documents/My games/Skyrim. Make sure to back up your old SkyrimPrefs.ini file first before overwriting it. http://www.mediafire.com/?89a1y9tdu9si8ww Also you may need this 4gig patch which allows Skyrim to use more than 2 gigs of RAM. http://www.mediafire.com/?y9l6t6o42hvm446 Just run the exe browse for the TESV folder then click open and it will patch it.

Not sure if it's for better or for worse that there are already mods that fix things out when the game is not even a week old...

haha. Everyone knew it was going to happen. Bethesda aren't the greatest developers when it comes to graphics.

Thanks for posting the mods everyone. I'm going to install some now.

The graphics are really bad for the level of performance the engine has on people's systems.

The sunglare is fantastic. I like the minor add-ons like that and it's really well done. Antiallias and sharpen is also incredible if you like having the sharper textures. Although I would suggest editing the A&SE file so that the sharpening effect isn't quite as intense. Enhanced blood is like sunglare, it's not something you really notice too much, but when it's not there it just doesn't look right.

Is wrong of me for liking the game the way it is now? I'd like to see some performance enhancer patches before I see anything game related. There's a few spots in Skyrim that for no logical reason kill the frame rates.
