The cost of a RAM DIMM depends on its size, speed, and timings. The most popular these days are 1 GB sticks, and if you visit the Crucial RAM web site, you can use an on-site utility to determine what RAM you should get.

Both system memory and system storage are measured in Megabyte and Gigabyte. System Memory is the one referred to as RAM. Integrated video chips borrow memory from the main memory so they can work. Separate video cards these days have some VRAM attached to them, but the cheap ones may have only 32 MBs, or 64 MBs, and still need to borrow memory. The reverse loan from VRAM to main memory isn't possible.  Â
