Most competitive PC games? "Frag"

What do you think (your opinion) are the most competitive PC games, and the games most played in tournaments around the world for cash prizes?

I just finished watching Frag (great movie) And I started to wonder what are the most played competitive games out there.

Also, what are your thoughts on competitive PC gaming? Compared to consoles? List your own list of the most competitive games and feel free to discuss PC gaming on a competitive level for money :)

BF2142 isn't very poular in tournaments, neither BF2 these days.

BF1942 + DC as well as BF2, are second to only Counte-Strike in terms establishing a huge amount of clans and perpetuating a massive amount of clan wars and ladders. So they should definantly be considered one of the most competitve PC games.

I was in a big '42/BF2 clan, and boy we had some fun times. If only there was a PC game out now with the gameplay and online structure of BF2, the anti-cheat protection of CSS and the graphics and sound of Crysis. I would be all over it :D

Probably Starcraf, Warcraft and BF.

Dude, playing with a controller (on games WITHOUT auto aim) is bloody hard compared to the precise and easy controls of a mouse.

Quake Live, Counter Strike: Source are the main ones. There's also Team Fortress 2 (If you wonder the classes used is usually only the soldier, demoman, medic and scout, becomes way more quake style.

Definitely about time to let this two year old thread rest I think. ;)
