I think Mafia and SWAT have also realistic gunplay. I realy like Mafia..
ravage19
damn totally forgot about those 2 games, i havent played SWAT since i got more ram and a new video card(it was laggy before). Mafia almost seems TOO jumpy and too much recoil. the handguns recoil nicely but the tommy gun is almost un-aimable(not a word) haha.

to me farcrys gunplay is an experienced soldier shooting...what i mean is it has some recoil to it and it feels real based on that character, like he knows what he is doing.
stalker on the other hand feels as if the character is picking up a gun for the first time and doesnt know what to do at all. almost like he is barely holding onto it when he fires.

Well, have you tried using a tommy?!
To answer your question, Mafia all the way.
*sigh* no i havent, but of course you have right? stevew84
Offcorse not, but you say it like it's recoil is not real in the game! That's why I said it.
Red Orchestra - You cant hit anything if you fire you SMG in one full auto. Bursts only.

Mine was ridicules, if i had a machine gun, i could fire one bullet and I'd be aiming at the sky.

It's only hard if your mouse sensitivy is very low because then it becomes hard to control the recoil, you just can't keep up with a low mouse sensitivity.
It'll be stupid if you choose anyone of these games.. none of them have realistic feel.. their gunplay isn't authentic at all.
Stalker may be the only one close to realistic shooting experience.. but it sure has some dumb accuracy problems. COD isn't realistic.. weapons feel acurate when you zoom in.. while shooting with a crosshair makes them almost completely in accurate. Funny thing is you even included Far Cry in most realistic gunplay... It only has a difficulty of Realistic Gameplay... Gunplay is different & not realistic at all.
Here is a list where you can find most realistic shooting experience. (in order)
Crysis -> Most authentic gunplay i ve seen so far.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfigher Series
STALKER Pretty close to hardcore realism.. but frustrating sometimes.
Battlefield 2
then Call of Duty.
Did i forget any shooter ? :o

how can you say that crisis is the most realistic? im thinking about the game and you can just hold down the fire button and the gun wont even jerk, when you shoot a shotgun in real life you better believe your not gonna be able to unload 5 or 6 shells without having to put it down for a minute to recoupe. try to unload a full clip with an assault rife, you will be sore from vibration alone and good luck keeping it as steady as the main character does.
as for stalker's inaccuracy....i know what your talking about, but its only inaccurate at a distance, and you gotta think the dev's took into consideration the quality of the guns due to the harsh area they're found in. you really expect a gun to be cleaned by some thief the same way its cleaned by an advanced soldier like in crysis? i believe the stalker dev's made the guns like this to highten the overall experience. you arent magically able to be a sharpshooter in that game which is why i like the feel of the gunplay.
look at halflife, almost no recoil for any weapon, with such advanced physics as that game had, you think they could have thrown a lil of that into the gunplay.
Red Orchestra or Opertation Flashpoint... whichever one of those shooter sims is the newest and best.foxhound_fox
Only played Red Orchestra a couple of times but Flashpoint definitely yeah.
How many of the people saying Crysis and FarCry have even played Stalker?
Stalker is definitely the most realistic gunplay recently, yes firing an AK using iron sights at long distance is innacurate!

not just shotgun.. Anyone who never used any weapon in real life will have trouble when he does use them the first the time. Meaning Experience matters here. All Soldiers on the battlefield are trained first.. Not thrown into the battle with shotguns in their hands...
Im not talking about how it feels when you shoot a shotgun the first time... i meant how close can you get to reality in a videogame... when you just wanna see how it'd feel to hold a weapon when you have good experience in shooting & test it's accuracy at certain distances. It's pretty close to realism in Crysis with proper reasonable recoil & proper accuracy. Not BUGGY like Stalker... Stalker has many issues... one of them is Hit Detection at times. I really love that game.. but that's one of it's cons.
We play as a supersolider in Crysis but doesn't change much in Gunplay unless you're using the Strenght mode of your nanosuit power. Even a game like COD4 which is set in Modern world has very less recoil with it's most weapons.. Very very less i guess. Shotgun even has a higher rate of fire than what we have in Crysis... altho we just play as a fully trained normal Soldier. We gain experience later in the game which really helps us play better... So Experience is what really matters... in videogames too.
FEAR
Max Payne - forget bullet time for a moment, the guns feel just right.
Half-Life
Call of Duty 4.
The weapons and hit detection in Stalker are too inaccurate.
All those games are pretty arcade but I chose STALKER. I must note that I actually voted for STALKER with realistic weapon mods. All the other games got arcade as hell gunplay.
There are dozens of other FPS games that got (semi) realistic gunplay.

You're just a soldier there, no one-man hero!
Adversary16
that's what i hate. I'd want more freedom in the next cod game. where i get to kill enemies alone & survive myself.. pls keep my squad away from my ass. especially Cpt.Price. & Yes Im a soldier there... God has given me my own hands. So Let me open the doors myself. no run & gun pls... the extremely accurate weapons feel too unreal. & the renerative health too.
