The Arma series and the older Operation Flashpoint games are the most realistic..

Well when I got into the army we all got to choose two perks, a lot of people went with martyrdom, dunno why.

Arma II to me is as real as you can get.

I heard Halo is quite realistic. Crysis is realistic in its graphics, and the idea behind it isn't impossible.

I guess the Arma ll series would be the closest thing to realistic shooter. I'm not into military-sims though. I prefer the Battlefield series, which has some realism. Unless a shooter is a military-sim like the Arma series, realism could become very gimmicky and redundant.

AA3 has some authentic and realistic traits, however it isn't a terribly realistic representation of combat. It's a recruitment tool and game first and foremost.

ArmA 2 is - It's military training version is Virtual BattleSpace 2, which is used by a variety of forces.

Red Orchestra (2 is upcoming) is realistic as well (same with WW2 Online). the original

Rainbow Six games are as realistic as counter terrorism gets.

BC2 isn't realistic at all, nor is it authentic, and your way of judging realism is... odd. Reality is firefights usually happen over 100ms and it's more about getting your bearings or getting the drop on the enemy than ridiculous manshoots.

The most realistic shooter is easily Team Fortress 2. Followed by the original Golden Eye. Perfect Dark, Bulletstorm, and Bioshock deserve honerable mentions.

By far the consoles simulate real combat more then any PC game.

I mean Metalgear is the most realistic and then there is mortal combat you can't beat those for realism.

You want realistic go join the armed forces they want people like you who are looking for the most realistic shooters.

That game there is no reset - no reload just body bag.

Glitchspot's 3 quote limit per thread strikes again is what is going on.

The most realistic shooter hasn't been released yet though it is in the works. It involves consequences for actions such as jumping. Sure, you can jump, but that shot you try to take will not hit the side of a barn like one can in games that bouncing around like rabbits is common. Rounds that go through objects and can ricochet off objects behind a plywood wall. These are just a few of the features that will make it into this game.

AAO 2.8 is way better than AA 3. WAYYYY better
