Most Satisfying Ending?

We all get mad at games for ending on cliffhangers without sequels and rushing their endings.There is another side to it though. What game provided you guys with the most satisfying ending?

For me it was my favorite games Max Payne and its sequel. I felt it wasan exceptional ending to an awesome game.

ps: don't know if this thread has been run before but who cares...one more time around and lets try to keep the spoilers to a minimum.

Lately Bioshock.

I can't think of any older ones atm.

The most recent ones that stick out in my mind the most is:

Portal

CoD 4

HL2: EP2

They don't necessarily "wrap things up nicely" but to me they ended they way they should of. Does that make sense?

KoTOR 1 (I can't remember the details of KOTOR 2's ending for the life of me, but I don't remember it being annoying in anyway so throw KOTOR 2 in there too..)

CoD 1, CoD UO, CoD4

Hitman Blood Money (that ending was pretty wicked, didn't see that coming in the same game, thought it was a cliffhanger)

Crysis. I know it ends with a To Be Continued type thing, but you really feel like you accomplished something at the end. Not the final boss in particular, but the consequences of your actions.

That's because there was no ending...

I'd have to say Kotor 1 had a nice ending, although the end-movie could have been longer and better. Episode 2 had a great ending, emotional and stuff.

But the best is Mafia imo. Great end to a fantastic game.

flame if you must (not PC) but the "new" Prince of Persia series was good "not so much the 2nd one, but the last one ended nicely I thought. Also Lode Runner...oh wait there was no ending.....anyone here remember Lode Runner

From this year im gonna say...

Bioshock (the good ending...the evil one sucked)

blood money had a great ending sequence

return to zork is my most satisfying ending, yes I used a walkthrough, but it was just such a lengthy journey that finished nicely.

I really like the ending in the witcher (well there are 3, but one of them is very good)

It is not a "bad" ending but in many ways it is both fitting, and in some ways sad (neutral ending)

The Longest Journey: DreamfallFragMonkey09

Seriously? My answer was going to be The Longest Journey...with the most unsatisfying ending being Dreamfall. Not that it wasn't good, but theres just sooo many loose ends. Still an awesome series though.

For PC? I guess Metal Gear Solid

Best ending ever? Well there's only one true answer:

Metal Gear Solid 3 (I cried at the ending and anyone who has played MGS3 will tell that it's the best ending ever)

So far Portal has had the best ending of the games I've finished this year.

I was a bit dissapointed with the ending of STALKER and Bioshock, they just kind of ended and felt unfinished. Then again I have yet to replay STALKER to see all of the endings.

MGS3 has the best damn ending ever. My god, what a game.

Shadow of the Colossus was also incredible.

The Orange Box was brilliant of course as well.

i always loved fear's ending, to me it had the perfect mix of closure and while making you want to see what happens afterwards.

it was just great to see that girl on the helicopter in the last second of the game followed by the credits.

i thought hl2 episode 2 also had a great ending.

farcry's problem wasnt really its story or storytelling, you can do far worse in the fps genre. its real problem was its voice acting, my god it was atrocious in some parts.

Indeed, MGS 3 had the best ending in video gaming history. Nothing tops it IMO.
