mount and blade problems...

so whenever i start up the game and try to access any option in the menu i get this message:

could not reset the direct3d device

this sample will now exit.

any solutions people?

hmm... I also got that message whenever I try to play Mount & blade - but I tried hitting the esc-button when the paradox-thing comes up after clicking "play mount and blade", and then I just viewed "options" ( I didn't had to change anything, I just clicked the options button and then return) and then I tried to click "start a new game" or whatever and it works fine now. But if I don't view Options and click esc, I'll still get the same message. :P

Soooo.... try clicking ESC when the paradox-thing comes, and then click "options" > "Return" and then maybe you can start a game. :P

And also, I changed from DirectX9 to 7.
