YES! you do the same thing, over and over again. "Gather you crew, kill looters, pillage a village, join a faction, kill some army people, and take strongholds." Its repiting itself, that's why I download mods:/
I think it is awesome and will get better when it's released, that's why I still haven't played it, I'm waiting for the finished product. On the other hand, some repitition is expected considering it is made by an independent small development studio. The repitition of content is a technique used by the big development houses and small ones to give more scale for their games. As long as it doesn't get too repetitive, it's fine. Plus, the most important thing in games is originality for me, and this one is original, I haven't played it but I've read and have been watching the trailers. The thing about independent studios is they are not afraid of experminting, which is a strength that can be found often in smaller PC games.
Well, it's basically a sandbox rpg. By it's very nature it's going to be repetitive over time. The dozens of hours I've spent playing it didn't make it seem so to me, but to each his own.
Honestly I haven't experienced this, I think the core game (the combat) just keeps me really interested and doing all the extra stuff such as: arena competitions/ waging wars/ quests/ looting city's/ tons of mods/ trading between towns/ slave trading etc are just extra on top of that, which enhance the game even further. A big factor with this game is the amount of mods out, from star wars to zombie mods all keep the game fresh (my fave: hundred year war) but if you don't like the combat you aren't going to like the game since it relys so heavily on it.
It needs something to hold it together... I enjoyed it a lot but it just seemed like practice in building an army and taking stuff over for no reason... but damn I loved the combat. A really fun game that just seems to be missing something.
