I'm a lefty but I game right handed on the PC. I'm not ambidextrous (hope I spelt that right) ie my left hand is clearly more well coordinated than my right hand. Breaking my left-wrist twice playing rugby probably hasn't help. Here's the problem I play a lot off COD4 multiplayer but my kill rate hasn't improved beyond 1:1. I've noticed on a one-on-one "fastest draw" situation I tend to lose to good players and my reasoning is the coordination and reflexes in my right hand are holding me back. i mean I've seen guys do things I could never do like head shot an opponent sprinting across the road in the far distance--with a sniper gun. I've tried lots of things ie Quake 3 Arena practice (against the bots on the higher levels), blue blazer software but no progress. I kind of think I'm in a situation where I'm trying to beat the other guy in a tennis game but I'm struggling because I'm holding the racket in my weak right hand. I do pretty well with single player eg I find the ai enemy on Crysis on Delta mode too easy--but I think thats because I've been conditioned by the pace and ruthlessness of online fps. Is anyone else in the same situation? Comments, insight would be appreciated.

There are left handed mice available. I believe the Razer Lachesis would work (please correct me if I'm wrong).

I'm a lefty, but the only time it definately affects me is in clicking speed. Most people can empty a pistol mag double or three times faster than I can. In games like css, though I tend to be much more accurate single shotting so w/e

Its all training, you just arent playing enough!Key a gaming mouse, turn off ALL mouse acceleration and that should help a lot

Couldn't theorecticlaly you get a left handed mouse and maybe a Nostromo keypad... It is quite forgiving to lefties from what I have seen.

Nah, prefer playing right hand. I've tried switching the mouse to my left hand. Mouse aiming felt smooth as but everything else felt awkward.. and it would take to long to adjust + I prefer right hand for general computing work, its just when it comes to COD4 mp---unless I get the jump on the other guy, the time it takes for my weak right hand to adjust, aim and pull the trigger (lets say in an encounter where we both spot each other at the same time) is just a little bit slower than someone who'se mouse aiming with their dominant hand. Because with skilled players, very rarely will you get them out of position and secondly if you do get the drop on them, you usually don't get a second pull of the trigger, if the first volley of bullets missed. Now note, I don't have a problem with noobs, just good players. I mean on a map full of noobs I'll get as high as 1:3, but I don't count those clashes--only the ones that at least have a good balance of good players and noobs. On a map loaded with known clan players--I'd be lucky to get 1:2.,it can get quite ugly as 1:3 even 4. I play a fair bit of team death match with certain pro/am clan members, one of my best friends is ranked 1st or 2nd best COD4 mp player in New Zealand, his team Deadly Combination (DC) has just won a NZ-Australia comp. Now and again we team up for free-for-all team deathmatch in the Aussie/NZ servers. The other thing is I play on a Toshiba A300 laptop with a Radeon 3650 512mb gpu, that probably doesn't help. From experience, I'll hold my own if the frame rate stays at 60+, if it drops below that especially to below 50, ghosting effect really cuts down on your spatial vision especially if you're quick scanning from side to side on the run, its very easy to miss as you run past--the sniper in the window or an opposing player in Marine garb prone against a sand coloured wall.

I'm left handed and I have absolutely no problem dominating everyone right handed. I'm the best player in every CS:S pub I go into and I front most clan matches. I also play guitar right handed. And no, I'm not ambidextrous.

I am left handed but i have always used the mouse with my right...even tho i am left handed it just seems unnatural to try to use the mouse with my left hand...i guess after so long you just get used to it. Same type of thing happened to me with gituar hero...started playing right handed...got used to it...then found out i could lefty flip but by that time i was so used to playing right handed it just did not feel right to play left handed

Left handed. Since the invention of the mouse have gamed with normal mouse to the left of the keyboard. WASD with right hand, mouse with left. Don't use "left handed mouse" or switch buttons 1 and 2 around. Plays fine. This also works for non gaming.

You do know that you can program your mouse through windows XP (not sure how Vista works) and change which mouse button does what - then just customize the keyboard controls to fit your right hand as best as you can be comfortable with and you should be good to go. In XP, go to your Control Panel and then click on Printers and Other Hardware then click on Mouse and then click the check box to switch the primary and secondary mouse buttons. The mouse I have would work just fine for a left handed person as it would for a right handed person. You can find the mouse I use by following this link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826105148 I've got 3 of these, my oldest one I use at work and I currently use one at home and I have another one for a backup, just in case something should happen to the ones I'm currently using. The oldest mouse at my work, I've clicked the crap out of the left side button and it still works like a charm. It's a 5-button mouse and I love having the extra side buttons for gaming, especially in FPS.

As a left hander, I've no problems playing "right handed" and to be honest I think left handers have the advantage. It's my left hand in gaming that needs the most coordination. Zipping and clicking the mouse with my right hand is easy...

I am left handed using a right handed mouse as well, but I haven't noticed any difference between my performance in games vs my right handed friends. You could always try a universal mouse and rebinding keys to the other side of the keyboard.

You've got to adapt man!! Being left handed, we live in a right hand dominant world!! It sounds like you've made some good choices, just keep trying things out. I kick butt in COD arenas. There is also hand pads you can program that are left handed. Keep trying things out!!

I'm right handed so I'm better with the mouse but i'm still struggling with the keyboard side of things. I keep hitting the wrong keys when underpressure from enemys in Crysis. I'm playing it on easy but it feels like I'm playing on hard. I dunno maybe its because I'm used to consoles not pc yet.
