I'm in the nay category, but I was just curious how many folks are using a mouse pad with their optical gaming mice. If you are - why, and what do you use?

I use a gaming pad (icemat) with mouse skates because it offers a near frictionless surface. When used in conjunction with a lightweight mouse (read: wired), this allows for less clunky mouse control when playing FPS games.
