movie file to dvd question

i want to burn my video file to a dvd.the video file itself has "not that great" video quality, if i burn it to a dvd will it look better?

Nope. If the video source is not that great, it won't magically improve if you put it on another medium.

Think of it this way: if you have a bottle of water and you pour it into an empty pepsi bottle, does it turn into pepsi? No matter how you "package" it, the source is still the same. The only time when you can improve quality by changing formats is if you have a high quality source (for example, 360) using a bad connection that's lowering the quality (composite).
