The highlights of each in a budget up to $200.00

New Ipods

16gb Nano - 24 hours audio battery life, 5 hours of video, built in video camera and voice activation, finally an FM tuner, 2.2' click wheel screen $180.00

8gb touch - no real difference except the price, 3.5' touch screen, the most customizable of all, great wireless net Dropped down to $199.99.

New Ipod Classic back up to 120gb or something, no difference but that.

Samsung 16gb p3 - 30 hour audio battery life, 5 hours video, 3' touch, easily the best UI out of the bunch, amazing EQ, comes with excellent quality headphones, Supports direct Divx with no hassles. $199.99

Zune HD 16gb - 30 hours audio battery life, 7 hours video, new OLED screen, best looking of all, 3.3' touch, ugly UI as i see, does not support HD movies on the screen, but it outs to HD video, HD radio, excellent ear buds ( rumor ) $220.00

Archos 5 60gb - 12 hours audio 3 hours video, extremely heavy, great wireless browsing, can support HD out and in as well as recording, can get hot enough to burn you ( its a real hard drive, not flash ) high failure rate. $180.00

Zune gets my vote. The Zune Pass is awesome. For the price of these, it's a joke how small the HD's are. I can't even fit my music library on a 16gb let alone think I'd have enough left over to put videos on it? Laughable. Touch screen is not worth the sacrifice.

Samsung out of those though personally i like the Cowon iAudio 7. It's cheap, plays a lot of formats, has 60 hours battery life and offers some of the best sound quality you can get from a portable player.

The simple fact that you can now take HD content with you and output it anywhere in such a small package gives Zune HD the advantage. It could replace so many devices!

I own both that 16gb iaudio 7 cowon as well as the P3, the P3 has a much nicer driver. I use Senn Hd485s, the bass detail on the P3 is just unreal for a driver of that size, it beats the cowon...cowon has crazy battery life, but its dang thick. Both are very nice. I hear rumors the Zune Hd will beat both of them in the driver depo.
