My pc currently using avast antivirus and recently, i'm trying the Microsoft Security Essentials that most people said that this is the great antivirus compared to the crap windows defender and now as tougher as the other great antivirus like avast, kaspersky and so on. So which of the antivirus is the best ones, avast or MSE?

They are both very good, honestly there isnt much between them. Go with whichever your happy with.

Also just remember that MSSE has a built in Windows Genuine checker inside ;)

Are these two much better than AVG? I've used AVG for a while now and I've been pretty happy with it.

For its ability to have it's settings tweaked I'd go for avast. Its clear you've got some aptitude with computers so you would probably get on fine with Avast; I find MSE a bit too simple, it's fine for your parents but I want to know/see what my AV is actually doing and how busy it isso on that basis I'd give the edge to avast, in terms of performance and protection it's probably pretty equal.

I love MSE. It does its job perfectly and it stays out of the way. That's exactly what I want from my anti-virus.

No one should be using AVG. AVG has been bloated since it started years ago. They hide memory usage in your "SYSTEM" image name (use task manager. it should be at 200K or so but is actually at 90000K with AVG). Outside of that, its reliability has dropped severely over the years. I prefer AVAST alot. I like the ability to set my screensaver to do a AVAST scan, have avast scan outside of a normal windows boot, and not have a high ram usage. MSE would actually go really nice as well.

I have been using MSE for a while, and have had 0 problems so far. What I like about it (other than efficiency) is that it has a very sleek and simple interface and a relatively small memory footprint (around 5mb).
