Hey everybody,

I just got my greedy little mitts on a Radeon 4850 X2. After getting pissed off at the wierd 8-pin cable connector they used in place of the standard, and nearly being unable to fit the damn thing in my case at all, I'm up and running with a 14k on 3DMark 06. So now, I'm looking for some games to totally smash it to pieces, because it's shredding up everything I throw at it. Anybody got some suggestions that aren't Crysis? Mass Effect, anyone?

Great card man, you can pretty much throw anything at it. I have 2 HD 4870's, they're rocking everything like champs.

Yeah, all told it's a bit odd that I'd neglect the point of having an indestructible video card by immediately finding the game that it churns through the most. I'll have a hard time with that, though, because this thing appears as though it'll be ahead of the curve for the next year or so.

Well, get Stalker: Clear Sky and try to max out it, good luck lol. Try GTA4 too, but that game will stress your processor too, so Clear Sky it's probably a better benchmark for your graphics card.

You are in for a surprise, it's going to take much more than a 9950 and a 4850 X2. In fact ,Crysis will probably run better, no, definitely. Grand Theft Auto 4 has major performance issues!

Ah, so then, it's not an issue of the card, but the glitchy game? P.S.

I run with an AMD 64 X2 5600+ (OC'ed from 2.81 to 3.15), 4GB memory, Windows XP and 2 8800GTS 512MB in SLI and game @ 1680x1050 I have everything maxed out for STALKER: Clear Sky (except Vsync....everything gets messed up with it on) and with FRAPS running, I have yet to see my FPS drop below 50. I don't think it's a hard game to max out.... Crysis on the other hand, with everything on high with AA turned off, I avrage about 38-40FPS. Lowest I've seen it go was mid 20s and a few high spikes into the low 50s. That game is tough for me to max out...If I were turn AA to 4x I'd average abotu 30FPS....AA set any higher and the game can't really be played at all.

Technically there is no reference design from ATI, but Sapphire came up a with a design. They are the only ones selling it. ATI released a quick fix version of the 9.1 Catalyst release to accomodate it. (should be integrated in the future.)

I had a phenom 9950 @ 3.2 ghz and crysis kicked its ass, now with the 940 very high 4xaa 40 fps :D. Try that, if not gta4 will.
