whats the point of combining religion with a game website?

to game with people that share something in common.
That is how friends are made, by sharing something. Also, it problably doesnt help to play with Westerners because, on more than one occasion, I have seen people that are muslim to get a lot of trash talking.
It's nice to see that you are open about it. Though, I dont necessarily think, race, religion, sexuality and even language barriers matter all that much, just as long as everybody in my multiplayer game/server is having fun. That probably one of the most underrated features of PC gaming as the community--modding, competitive, casual or otherwise--are always quite transparent with their backgrounds.
lol. I knew that would be a question. Its more of a news/opinion site and a hub. I guess it kind of humanizes Muslims too because many people like to degrade us to the likeness of animals and this shows we do the same things others do too. :D. GamesterpheonixThe people in 3rd world countries stoning others to death and chopping off heads are the ones you are talking about, pretty sure most people know your typical 2011 Muslim is not an animal. If they don't they are ignorant, of course.

You dont have to show/prove anything...Religion is not a barrier...
Best regards for ya, Sadly most people using this site are ignorant and will hate on you for being religious. GL
Edit: But the new trend now a days is hating Christians so you might be alright.Stupid Trend IMHO

Like you aren't the majority where you are or anything.
Decently setup website for games, not bad at all. I just don't understand the need to affiliate it with a religion.
Seems a bit of an odd combination.
Would you make singlemomgamers.com?
I guess if you feel that religion is something that really defines your life and all aspects of it, then it makes sense to have a religion specific gaming site, but it does seem a bit peculiar to me.
But all the best of luck to you, mate.
Each to his own.
You know that Islam condems video games.DevilMightCryIslam is even more divided than Christianity in terms of interpretations, and really, while I don't think any religious belief systems are worthwhile, I don't mind people with religious beliefs playing video games because I suppose it could help secularize them. The site just seems to be a regular gaming site using the Muslim tag as a way to get more views for ad money.

I am gonna have to second this. There are a lot of BS (and often falsified) barriers between people, that several over-romanticize and/or flat out worship. Religion, in all the colors it comes in, is a prime example of this.
I am not religious, I prefer science, though I don't mind gaming in a Christian server, or a Muslim server, or any server for that matter, as long as the people in the said server are not overly annoying (hacking and all too).
Why have a problem with like-minded people in the gaming community gathering in one place? I am sure there are specific discussions relating to their religion and gaming. The only thing that I see is contradiction in a religious gaming website with war games on it. I can imagine a religious gamer site, but I would think the point would be to find games consistent with religious beliefs, like Portal or Chess....you know....no headshots or chainsaw kills?
But of course this opens the question is this cool with Islam? A think a Christian gaming site would be all about finding games you can play and still get into Heaven lol.
People of all religions are degraded by a wide variety of people. Muslims are no different.
-Unreal-
You can't deny that the perspective on Muslims hasn't changed since 9/11. Even in France, there has been large issues surrounding the burka (sp?). Islam has been gathering much more persecution in recent years than comparable to many other mainstream religions.

Wow...I didnt expect there to be as many level headed people commenting. I thank you for it. Gamesterpheonix
Lack of criticism = "level headed"
Right. I'll keep that in mind. Clearly if someone has issues with x religion then they are imbalanced
I'll spare you my criticism since this isn't the place but I do think that mixing religion with games is rather pointless. But whatever, have your fun.

Were you planning to criticize someone for being Islamic? I wouldn't call it imbalance, more like ignorance and bigotry.lol. I knew that would be a question. I do have a question...where does this happen? To be honest i have never seen or heard anyone talk bad of muslims in arizona.

Were you planning to criticize someone for being Islamic? I wouldn't call it imbalance, more like ignorance and bigotry. It is possible to have legitimate concerns and criticisms of Islam. It isn't bigotry nor is it ignorance to have them and voice them.
Now, at the moderators request, let's not derail this thread any further. There are forums dedicated to this kind of debate. If you feel like calling people bigots I suggest that you find one...

lol. Oh wow. No I didnt mean what you said. The people here criticized and rightfully so but I didnt see any "DoWN with you demon, Mawzlim!!". I appreciate thoughtful questions and intelligent conversation so no, as smart as you think you were being, no I dont see a lack of criticism as a level headed conversation. The whole point of the site is to express that Muslims play games too and have our own points of view and would like to contribute to the conversation just as well as others. And lol concerns eh? Sure there are concerns to be had but Im afraid they exist in every facet of life from every religion and every race. I hope you understand that.[QUOTE="Gamesterpheonix"]lol. Well, honestly you are closer to the West Coast. People closer to the events of 9/11 have a more negative outlook on Muslim's in general.

I live in NYC, my sister almost died in 9-11 but luckily she was going to work late that day and as she was going to work she witnessed the first collapse. I don't have a problem with any group of people, individuals are what matter, groups mean little to me.[QUOTE="Johnny_Rock"][QUOTE="edinsftw"]

lol, thank you.. I love xkcd but I'm going to have to ask you to mod yourself for hi-jacking this thread. :Pflipin_jackassSelf-modding sounds kind of weird. I've no idea if it's even possible. :? (I love xkcd as well... one of the few truly great web comics.)
Nothing wrong with making a site based on personal orientations, it might be for protection against prejudice and unnecessary debates (I've had those in here), discussions among Muslims that game, attracting particular demographics, etc. We have gaygamer.net, girlgamer.com, christiangamers.net, so how is muslimgamer.com anything new?
Just checked the site btw, "good burqa fun!"? Site looks awesome already.
