I am wanting to turn over to more PC gaming so I wanted to know what games I should get. I mostly want some that would have a lot of Co-op fun with friends but they don't have to all be that. I already own quite a few games but I thought I would ask anyway seeing as how this is something I would spend a lot of time doing.

Always buy multiplats for PC it's the better experience, and the PC's exclusive library is pretty much the icing on the cake.

Sorry for not mentioning games i really can't be bothered and the list can pretty much go on forever.

Chivalry Medieval Warfare

Black Mesa

Diablo (any/all of them)

Starcraft (both of them, or just 2)

Torchlight 2

Path of Exile

STALKER SoC, CS, and CoP

Amnesia The Dark Descent

Half Life 2 + Episodes 1 & 2

Crysis

That's just a handful of PC exclusives (a couple former exclusives, still generations better on PC) mostly from recent years. Also, yeah, if you've got a decent rig, get all multiplats on PC. Better by default. Better graphics, even if the PC version doesn't get significant enhancements, simply by virtue of resolution and framerate. Higher framerates are just about a guarantee if your system is even halfway decent. Plus you can always plug in a controller for any games that you might feel more comfortable with that way.

A handful of big name multiplats that have significantly enhanced PC versions...

GTA 4

Max Payne 3

Skyrim

Crysis 2

Sleeping Dogs

Batman AA and AC (ESPECIALLY AC)

Metro 2033

Alan Wake

Fallout 3

Fallout New Vegas

Portal/Portal 2

Left 4 Dead 2

Battlefield 3

Mass Effect Trilogy

That should be more than enough to get you started. Enjoy.

Have the application Steam is going to be a must in my opinion. Always keep your eye for for sales at Amazon and GMG too. Too be honest, there are some must have titles that you're going to want to play and then other titles that will peak your interest when you list expect it.

If you like strategy games there are a handful of classics and some recent additions. I personally love Starcraft 2, Anno 2070, and Civilization V. There are tons of competitive first-person shooters. One that is still addictive and easy to jump into is Counter Strike: Global Offensive. That game single handedly rekindle my love for the genre. Battlefield 3 is great on the PC by the way! There are some games I think a lot of people passed and one is Metro 2033. If you want an immersive experience and are fan of story driven FPS games this one will definitely intrigue you.

MMORPG are all going free to play; in fact you'll find some that are free to download as well(like the upcoming Neverwinter). World of Warcraft is still going strong and Guild Wars 2 is easily one of the best experiences you'll have. The Secret World may peak your interest if you're not into the fantasy setting. If you decided to just go hardcore, there's always EVE Online.

I agree with everyone else about multiplatform titles; the PC verisons are just superior and don't be afraid to play with a controller either. Games like Devil May Cry, Far Cry 3, and Skyrim play well on the PC. No to mention they just look better. Especially for Skyrim, the mod community is amazing. Don't pass up other RPGs like the Witcher 2.

And follow the indie develop, especially on Kickstarter. Minecraft is still fun, FTL is pretty addicting(although brutal), Chivalry is just butter...I can go on.

One of my personal favorite reasons for being a PC gamer, "Indie" games. Check them out! I enjoy the wide variety and fresh take on gaming from the Indie developers as well as they are for the most par relatively cheaper. Other replies cover games I would have mentioned.

Pretty much any FPS, MMO and RTS always play better on the PC. They each have their award winners. And there are some games that even though they're multiplatform were built for the PC such as the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games. That's largely due to the modding community which is so more accessible on the PC.
