I gotta say I love this game, it truly is amazing. I gotta give it to the dev team in doing a phenomenal job in recreating the most realistic war experience in a game yet. I wanted to start this thread to get feedback from the community to see what features you all would have liked to see in the game that you feel could've made it better.

As an example I'll start. First off, I think the game should have had a cover function. It could've played like a FPS which changes to third person when your character takes cover. Using an action function your character can then move from one cover spot to another that is in range, kind of like what they did with Quantum of Solace. The game is about Modern Warfare and soldiers take cover on the battlefield so I feel it would've added to the realism in the game's atmosphere.

Secondly, I haven't gotten that far since I just started it, but since the game deals with modern warfare and contemporary weaponary it would be nice to see something like the Israeli "cornershot" system, the gun that has the flexible barrel which can shoot around corners and also has the pop-out video screen on it so the soldier can see what they're aiming at around the corner. Some people might feel the cornershot would've made the game too easy, but it is a modern weapon and when dealing with warfare in a modern world then why not feature something like it? The game is still great without something like cornershot, but it just would've been a nice addition to see. I still think though they need a cover function which we might hopefully see in MW3 (you know they're making it).

Why the hell do you need a cover system? The SP is already like a cover shooter anyway, except you don't need to push a button and go into third person mode.

Exactly my point. He's doing it wrong. MW 2 isn't a simulator, is a arcade fps and the gunplay mechanics aren't so far from Quake 1, wearing a flashy skin of contemporary weapons and atrezzo. This is not bad, a game must be fun and being fun has nothing to do with "realism" or "arcadism", but calling MW 2 the most realistic wars experience with games as Infiltrator, Operation Flashpoint or ArmA II is a bad joke.

Every other COD had a popout and shoot system called leaning. Console versions never had lean due to lack of buttons. This is a straight port so theirs no pc centric features like leaning.

MP doesnt need leaning since noone plays realistic, it plays like Quake in slomo. SP is supposed to simulate real firefights so it feels wierd not to have leaning.

Started being a condescending prick right here.

and your entire topic becomes moot. "the dev team in doing a phenomenal job in recreating the most realistic war experience in a game yet." Uhh. come on, i mean, Splinter Cell does a better job. Not to mention, oh, i dunno... an entire genre of more realistic FPS games? like Arma 2, OF:DR, heck even AA3 does a better job at realism Saying MW2 is a "Realistic war experience" is as far from the truth as saying that if you let your kids play pacman they'll grow up like fat people trying to eat ghosts. It's just wrong. as for a cover system... you do realize that as soon as you do that, the game instantly will turn into a trench warfare game, where both teams are too scared to run out of cover because if they do they'd get picked off. especially with the small MW2 maps... you want the corner shot in a multiplayer game? Do you have any idea how much that would support camping? you find a solid wall that cannot be shot through and your gun aims around the corner. wow, cheap. Dont Troll dude. you come in here with some idea that is CLEARLY just to annoy people. No-one, could ever think that those are even valid ideas. not to mention.. why would IW look at a GS forum, rather than the MW2 official forums? MW2 is an arcade, console shooter with sub-par graphics and laggy multiplayer. Here's some Feedback and suggestions for IW. Make CoD more fun, and quit removing good things from it.

Well, I think you guys are misunderstanding the TC a LITTLE, it may be the most realistic war game to HIM. I think the dev team does a good job at making SOME people think it's the most realistic war game. To each his own I suppose!

 same here. The game is alright in my view.. really just a carbon copy of the first with a few new additions. So the added price, or even a full price tag is really not worth it. Plus i played the first to death so i am finding it harder to get back into this one.

Sorry but no, just no. If you want a realistic war experience then get ARMA 2. CoD is nothing more then michael bay's dream of a video game. Lots of action and not a lick of realism. So please stop saying that....

Yeah i love the game too because it offers a cinematic movie style special forces experiance. Its not reallitsic since there are many more reallistic games. But it feels more real in comparison with other games due to the fact that 2 bullets can kill. Thats why people think its reallistic. I am just trying to explain whats the deal with all these people saying mw2 is reallistic.

Flexible barrel? If that were to work that would be amazing. I know of red dot sights that use mirrors to allow you to 'aim' around a corner, but haven't heard of a barrel that could fire a bullet with a curve (outside of Wanted)....

I think cover would have been terrible. Crouch and prone are more than enough, this is a first person shooter, please don't ruin it too much

They exist but are not currently used, you can also cover the barrel with a toy cat so the enemies think your gun is just a harmless animal.

modern warfare 2 single player for me is epic, it has so many epic proportions that you would enjoyed it, it would satisfies your 5 hours finishing the whole game, some says its kinda arcadish, but fot its like a cinematic gameplay, you can feel it though

In my opinion MW 2 is the most over rated over hyped game in years. Part of the problem is precisely that it drops all pretenses of realism. The first MW at least had the realistic feel and setting. MW2 is just James Bond without the wit, without coherent story, without style, without self irony and with way to high an opinion of itself. This is a game that makes Transformers 2 and Indiana Jones 4 look realistic.

Overpriced @ 60.00$ IMO. The single player was fun, but extremely short. The multi-player has the obvious lack of support for dedicated servers. It felt like more of the same TBH.

First thing i have to say is that the story mode on MW2 is amazing best first person shooting story ive ever played well done and special op is amazing to and challenge thats realyl good. Multiplayer on MW2 is awful my experince on it has been soo bad, i was playing afgan and someone shot me through a bunker wall with a ump which ever should know that is impossible. Also i sniper alot and the barrett .50cal i don't always get one shot kills when i shoot them in the chest with is weird. Many people might agree with me and that the rifle grenades on it they really annoy me, i was playing demolition and when round 2 start i got rifle grenade straight away and i was on a killstreak if your not going to take them off then at least make the explosion tiny and you can only use them with danger perk on and that with the perk on the explosion is still abit rubbish. Talking about the noob tube also thwe heartbeat senser is good in the story but i wish you never stuck it in multiplayer because all noobs do is camp in a corner on a map and they will always see you coming because your on the heartbeat senser. Also can you do something about the care package glitch thing because it annoys me soo much that The killstreak are awsome though that was the best new thing on mulitplayer i think personly think.

A first person cover system worked well is the second Call of Juarez. I'd like to see it in more games, it's more natural than leaning.

the single player is balls, its so boring and only like 5 hours long. Its even worse because we get an uninspired campaign like it every year now. Multiplayer is pretty fun, not my thing though as it has small maps and is very camper friendly.

So i am the only one who actually liked the compaign despite the fact the story is politically unstable and an excuse to kill terrorists? I would still say that the compaign was impressive despite the story not beeing believable!!

...the most realistic war experience in a game yet...

AnimusCarcer

?????

Also, if it isn't balanced for lean it sure as hell isn't balanced for a gun that shoots around corners. (would be cool though)
