Alas, those are 'projected' sales from a site notorious for making outlandish claims and projections. It did however set a new 'day one record' in the UK at least: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/11/as-easy-as-1-23-million-modern-warfare-2-breaks-first-day-uk-sa/

Yes, and UK specialists confirmed that it sold more there than vgchartz predicted.

Not everyone who bought it likes it.

Been reading some comments on Dutch forums, that's it is as bad as people said it would be.

Hopefully the $60 dollar price tag doesn't catch on.

Both surprising and not that surprising when taking into account the fact that there's an average of 100k people playing MW2 every hour according to Steam's Stats.

A lot of people that didn't know what was going on bought it, some of those who knew it bought it anyway to try out if it was REALLY that bad.

Imo we'll see the results with the next IW release.

Althou I doubt I'll live to play it. My life will still be completely absorbed by SC2 at the time :P

Hence why alot of Australians buy on Steam or other digital stores, where it's half price, but Activision decided to make the Steam version 90USD too! :|

Hmm, really? Still abit more than what they normally charge for brand new PC games, and 'tis still overpriced imo.

No, it's actually a great deal for a HUGE title like this.

New releases are always around $99 for PC....

Yeah, but at time of release? Resident Evil 5 and Batman have been out for weeks now. MW2 came out yesterday...everyone has it at $99/$120....JB at $80. Wait a couple of weeks and JB probably bring it down to $70 too....

How can so many people enjoy a 'run and gun' game that will fizzle out until the next 'run and gun' game? have tactical shooters met there end?

There is a difference there. If you want "Michael Bay" type cinematic experience action game....you get COD. If you want tactical shooters.... you get Operation Flashpoint.

Make a fantastic tactical shooter then I'm interested. However, keep distributing rubbish tactical shooters like Arma II then I won't bother.

You do know what "noob" means, right? And you know which control scheme came first, right? And ever hear of Shadowrun? The only game to allow cross-platform competition from PC to console? Remember how they had to nerf the heck out of the PC players because they were destroying the console guys?

I admire how console players play FPS on a controller....I tried once and took me a minute just to turn the character around 180 degrees....lol.

2k really needs to make another Swat game instead of small development on different platforms for fans of tactical shooters for the PC. Arma II wasn't a game for me if there are people on that Planet that admires Arma II. If you think Crysis dialogue is bad then wait till you get a load of Arma II's dialogue, by far the worst I've experience in a video game.

Yes I do sir! A real gamer puts effort into controlling his game with the, uh, controller, as opposed to PC noobs that instantly annihilate their enemies! Mouse is no worse than cheating! A controller also adds realism, since IRL weapons are pretty difficult to use!

Well, Arma II is using a software similar to Microsoft Sam for the voices, since most chatter is random. Although the actual scripted lines are kinda bad too... Crysis had dialogue straight from the '80s action movies, I had no problem with that.

does that even include steam?

isn't vg charts kinda not realy reliable?

I played around 2h MP so far, no lag whatsoever (or atleast it is masked so good that I don't realise it and that was with a basic 1MB broadband connection), tried ground war (which is 9vs9) not half as fun as the normal 6vs6, I for one am happy that IW put a limit on it, usualy small servers are few and even fewer are actualy good

SP is awesome, the game is so far defenetly worth every € I payed for it

thats why i mentioned Vegas 2 above .. its the only game i could deal with on console. consoles or for diving/ sports/ music games.. not shooters.
