I could go more in depth but I got bored

CRYSIS: http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/5152/crysisreviewtm2.jpg

CALL OF DUTY: http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/6798/callofdutyreviewcf1.jpg

CONCLUSION: Overall these are both awesome cards. No problems with any games so far (had some issues with the 3870x2 in FSX but it was fixed with CAT 8.3. I'm sure we will also see a nice jump in performance with both cards when new drivers are released. Overall I'd have to say the 3870x2 is the best bang for the buck. BUT... if you have that extra $150-200 I'd personally go for the 9800gx2, it's a beast! I got mine from EVGA so I got 90 days to step up; hopefully the 99's will drop before then. (I forgot the overclocks I was able to achieve: 3870x2=904/941-9800gx2= 732/1050 also the 3870x2 was watercooled, gx2 on air)

** your Crysis link doesn't work **

Could you expand on why you say the 3870X2 is the best bang for the buck? Is it only because it's cheaper? I ask because you say that, then immediately mention how if you had the money you'd buy the GX2. To me, it seems like if the GX2 gave enough performance increase to warrant the increased cost, it doesn't lose any "bang" for your buck.

well the reason I said that is because there is no game besides crysis that makes the 3870x2 sweat. So if you want to pay an extra $200 for 10 more fps is crysis (and maybe the ability to use AA in a couple other games) that's up to you. I don't think it warrents that much of a price difference. Now you can get a decent card for $200. Now, for people like me who want ultimate performance than it's clear you want the 9800gx2.

Crysis and COD4, both games that run like s*** on ATI cards.

Anyway, good effort.

I have seen this in a lot of reviews, where the ATI card out performs the 9800GX2 in the 3Dmark but falls short in all or mostly all real world game benches.

ya it was interesting though owning both cards and being able to test them both. I'm probably going to sell the 3870x2 and hold on to the money then when the "next gen" hits hopefully in july ill sell the 9800gx2 also.
