This rig will be running WinXP SP2 and will be replacing the 5 year old community PC in my household.

CASE - Apevia X-Cruiser

HDD - Barracuda 320GB

RAM - Corsair XMS2 (2 x 1GB)

PSU - Cooler Master eXtreme 500W

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171018

Sound - Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102006

Mobo - MSI K9AG

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130119

CPU - Athlon 64 X2 5200+

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103759

GPU - Sapphire X1950Pro

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102061

This comes out to about $620.00 after all the MIR's and shipping costs.

What do you think? Any suggestions?

Should be fine but I'm not sure about that PSU. And if you plan to OC both your video card and your CPU get a 600W. I have a 550W and have already maxed it, though my X1900GT uses a lot more power than the X1950pro.

Quite a nice budget build there, but I would change that power supply.

For the same price, you can get a case twice better than the Apevia X-Cruiser.
The Cooler Master RC690 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119137

You should however, change that PSU if you can. If not, its generally an okay PSU.
Pay a little more and get this if you can - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139003

And finally as a personal though, throw out that X-FI soundcard. Waste of money IMO.

I'd also seriously consider saving up for the 8800 GT. The cheapest model should be around $199 and should be night and day better than a 1950pro.

2 things:

1. I think the power supply will be fine for a budget-minded "community" PC.

2. A generic SB Audigy will perform just as well as an X-Fi card unless you're using some really high-end speakers.
