My computer is messed up

Ok i was watching my performace monitor and the cpu use spiked from 8% to 84%. my computer also shuts down if i play a game or do anything too big. does anyone know what would be causing this or how i would fix it?

CPU overheating is most likely. check to see if your cooler is working properly.

i don't think that it is because the fan is going into overdrive everytime i do something how would i fix this problem

There could be several things causing the problem, but as the above said: Heat is likely. You said your fan goes into overdrive... Is that your CPU fan going into overdrive when you do something? If so, it could indicate a problem with cooling. If the thermal paste has crystallized or if there's not enough of it, it'll cause problems in that department.

I'd take off the heatsink and check it. Reapply, if needed, a good thermal paste and check your levels again.

Also, if it's an intermittent problem, it could indicate hardware failure to some degree.

I'd start with the thermal part and go from there.

definitely could be a heating problem check all your fans....make sure our video card fan is working
