It dosen't matter what I'm doing at the time, I could be playing a game or surfing the web or nothing at all and then it just randomly restarts. I don't get the blue screen or anything so I guess thats good. So what could the problem be?

Can you give your PC specs?

It might be your power supply.

Your computer might be pushing your PSU to hard.

there are many causes for this

bad hardware, heat, OS issues, etc. you need to get us more information. its impossible to deduce a correct diagnoses based on what you have given us.

have you changed any drivers recently? what version video drivers? what are you system temps? have you ran virus and malware scans recently? can you link your windows event log entries after the crash.

I know my temps are not the problem because it will sometimes restart even after the pc has been on for a couple minutes. All of my drivers are up to date and the windows event log never shows anything.

an up to date driver doesnt mean it wont cause issues. remember all driver verions come with their own set of problems, and sometimes the problems of the previous verions that have yet to be worked out yet. im sorry but unless you are going to give specific details i cant help you beyond useless speculation.

If you have XP

Start -> control panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event viewer would be a good place to start
