i have a nvidia galaxy 9800 GT 1 gb card, core 2 quad Q8200 @ 2.32,2.33 GHZ, 4 gb ram and 160 gb HDD. Recently i was playing Arkham Asylum when my computer suddenly shut down following a sudden noise that came from the cpu. My PSU which was of 550 watts had gone rotten since the PC wouldnt start at all. I changed it and put in a new 600 WATT PSU. where there are two +12Vs. +12V = 14 A, 12V2 = 8 A. now my computer is running smoothly while watching online videos, movies on windows media player, listenin to music, workin on photoshop, after effects, net surfin etc. However when i start any game, i can play the game for about 1-2 mins and i mean any game. Here's the list of the games i played and the comp shut down : Arkham Asylum (this was the game that i was playing when my PSU got spoilt the first time) Assassin's Creed GTA 4 Bioshock FarCry 2 and all on max except for GTA 4 which i play on medium settings. At first i read on the internet that a 9800GT requires 26 A while my +12V adds up to just 22A. But then i read somehwhere that GALAXY 9800 GT isnt that power hungry and 18 amps should be sufficient for it to run. Is there a FAULT in my GRAPHIC CARD tried asking on yahoo but i wasnt satisfied with the replies i got. Since this is a gaming community im asking you all what exactly the problem is. I just bought this new rig 4 months ago and my parents will kill me if i ask them to buy another brand new graphic card which is expensive where i live. (India).

Problem is that only one rail is providing 14A while the motherboard/cpu/gpu can use upto 20A or more. You cant just add the rails because each rail is rated like your 14A and 8A rails, you need a better psu. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171031&Tpk=500w%20power%20supply

Things to look for in a psu. 70% or greater Efficiency rating, 12v rail/s have one large A rating or multliple 18A+ on each 12v line.
