Before you mention it, yes, the power cord is plugged in.
Ok, so my setup is this:
Athlon 64 3700+
1 gig of Patriot 3200 in dual channel
250 gig hard drive of some sort
ATI Radeon X850XT
A8N5X motherboard
Plenty of cooling.
The computer has been in servicable condition for a year and I have had zero problems with it. Its survived a few moves and remained in tact. I move it to another house last night and set it down in the garage to set up inside the following morning. I get everything plugged in and ready to roll, hit the power button, hear the fans begin to kick in, and it stops. I press the power again and nothing. I unplug in for 15 seconds and replug and try again. Same effect. I pop the case open, make sure everything's plugged in where it should be, it all looks fine, so I give it another shot and don't see any abnormalities inside the case. I take the video card out thinking its power cord might do something, unplug everything from the back except the power, and try turning it on. The fans spin for about 1 second before it dies. I get no beeps.
I can't figure it out, but I think its something with the power source. Not sure what kind it is but it held up until today. That, or it could be the motherboard, but again not sure. The only theory I could come up with for the computer is that it has something to do with the moisture in the air the night before, fog could have seeped in under the garage door but I don't see how that would damage it.
I don't know how I'm going to go on in my life without my PC.
Can one of you point me in aright direction?
