I wish my problems were like yours, you have a pci express slot free, youcan buy any graphic card you want that´s better than the onboard you have. And think of buying more 512 of ram too

Get a graphics card, add another 512MB or maybe go upto 2GB RAM and you are set.

What motherboard does this thing have?  The specs don't mention it.  I need to know whether it's AGP or PCI-express.

Given this, you have PCI-express. Depending on your budget, go with a GeForce 7600 GT (USD$110 at Newegg), GeForce 7900 GS (USD$190 at Newegg), or the new 8800 GTX for around USD$400 (or was it USD$500?) on Newegg.

Edit:  Seeing that you're going to sites for the UK, Newegg isn't an option since they only take orders within the US.  The idea is still the same though.  UK means pounds and about a 1.8 conversion, the 7600 GT is around GBP£60, the 7900 GS around GBP£105, and the 8800 GTX around GBP£220 (values are 3-second mental calculations).

$569 for the 8800 GTX... I think the GTS should be around $400... If you can't afford that (or are smart enough to save your money for something else) wait a bit for the 8600 GT. That should be a good card for less the $200

would that not be bottlenecked by the other components? I think he would just need a late 7 series card for the system.

Whoops, I didn't notice the CPU.  Probably the 7900 GS is about the best you can do.  Any more than that and you're just wasting processing power and money (unless you upgrade your CPU).

I don't think the 8600 gt or 8600 Ultra would be a bottleneck. Or at least not bad... Sure an upgrade to C2D would be awesome... But that's no reason not to get an 8600 and stay with a 7900 card...

This whole bottlenecking concept is over-rated. So what if there is some GPU bandwidth not being used? At least you have a DX10 card that will last you a heck of a lot longer, and when (if) you upgrade your CPU, you will be fine. Of course, it depends on your budget, but spending extra money (if you have it) to get one of the fastest cards around is not a bad idea. Bottlenecking a GPU is not the big issue its made out to be.

I could not agree with you more... That said.. I don't think there is a CPU out there that can use the full potential of a 8800 GTX... But if everything was perfectly matched out there... I would never want to upgrade.. :D

Well, my only advice would be to upgrade that RAM, either up to 1GB or 2GB & then get a GeForce 7 series graphics card, I'd personally go for the 7900GT, but that's me :) The fact that you have a PCI-Express slot is pretty useful too ;)

Don't forget to check your psu before upgrading. Prebuilds usually have very little head room for upgrading to keep the cost down.

Exactly. A 7900GS requires a stable 350W PSU Minimum.
