my disk is cracked for sf iv

So the disk is cracked, usable but nearly not. I have my cd key and everything to prove it's not pirated. Is it possible to go to GFWL, enter the code and download the game? Since I have it installed, just that it's one of those games that won't start unless the disk is inserted.

I just noticed, the manual is lost...BUT the game is installed, with the key somewhere activated. Is there anywhere in the game where I can find that key? Since I did enter it at sometime a year and a half ago. Like in cod4 where there was a change cd key setting.

Anyone? Anyone know where in the registry its located?

Why not register it with Steam? Go to Games, then Activate a Product on Steam, enter your CD key, and BAM!rcignoni

Hey I just legally backed it up as the cd is almost but not yet cracked, but securom says its not the original disk, and wont let me play, yet i have the original disk right next to me, waiting to crack lmao.

Animatronic64 is correct, there is no "grey" area. Backing up a Game or DVD Movie that you own is legal. Downloading that Game or Movie from ANY site even if you own it is NOT Legal, since it can be another version. I can post a pic of the game and case if you want, the crack is in the center where the hole is, but it has barely touched where the cd is read. Unfortunately anything I try fails, backing it up I just did, the game is already installed so I have no problem playing it with the original disk, its just that this disk is cracked and ready to explode in the dvd drive any moment. And the program Securom isnt letting me play with the backup disk. To the other guy sf iv is street fighter IV.

can you guys...stay on topic? You know? Well i've given up backing it up, is there a way to preserve the cd while its in use? Would duct taping(crazy) the non rainbow part help? be serious lmao.

Yes it lets me play, if i put the cd in, then its fine, but then each time I do that and take it out look! its more cracked. So some random ideas were glue and duct tape which you ruled out, since the clear part doesn't have any info. stored onto it.

If you are still wondering what your CD Key is for Street Fighter IV without having the manual, you can use regedit to find out what the product key is. Most games I come across on regedit have this.
