So your forum account and gaming accounts are linked resulting in a ban of both? Ewww!MythPro1
This kind of thing has been happening for nearly a year now and EA do not seem all that willing to change it :-

To be honest if you must use EA products then do yourself a favour and stay well away from all Official EA sanctioned forums (including forums set up for specific games). There is even one incident where a user DID NOT break any of the forum rules but found himself banned and cut off from all his games simply because another user quoted his name in an offensive post. So don't think you are safe because you will "play by the rules" you can easily get caught up and banned through no fault of your own.

Thanks for the clarification. I have less reason to visit that place and partake.i got banned for posting inappropriate pics on ts3 forums. i can still re-register without a serial code. but then, i wont be able to access the store and forums. do i have to spend another 40 bucks to get a serial code?Ashleigh34
You shouldn't have been dumb enough to post inappropriate pics on their site. I say you deserve it.

Ummm.... no. :P
This. You can spend an average of 4 hours trying to get someone to help you on the phone. Good luck. You'll probably starve while waiting for a rep. A lot of issues can only be resolved over the phone due to EA's security policy. I feel sorry for you. But then again, you must have made an extreme comment. What was it? I am curious. You could whisper me if you want. I hope you resolve your problems eventually. EA is way too strict on **** like this if you ask me.. But then again, I am wondering what you said hehe...That's EA for you. Even in customer support your probably not even going to get a real response.

EA doesn't ban you for "just" posting inappropriate pics, you'd have to be a complete ****** to get a ban and frankly, the way you're talking about this gives me just that impression. It's a myth people, what you're reading on the internet...EA staff doesn't go "uh lulz, moderation, meh let's make it perma ban", believe it or not, GS is waaaaaay more strict than the EA forums, if EA would give moderations like on GS, they wouldn't have a online community, same as Blizzard, if they'd be so strict 99.9% of the ones spamming their forums would be gone (trolls, leet wannabes, etc), thank God both EA and Blizzard permanently ban both your forum account and games, there's too much stupidity in this world.

Where is your evidence to support this claim that these bans are a "myth" ? The bans have been reported on a very reputable website and EA themselves have not sought to clarify that these bans haven't happened. I would have thought it would've been in EA's interest to state that the bans that sites such as RPS are reporting are myths. You don't even need to post inappropriate pics to get banned, there is one user that was banned for posting a "commercial" link to a website. This link is actually in an EA FAQ but that didn't stop EA from banning them. Another user was mistakenly banned when his name was quoted in an offensive post (moderators make mistakes they are only human) however that person is now unable to play his purchased games because he has no way to reverse the ban and EA provide no mechanism to contest bannings.

I really find it shocking that there are people actually supporting game companies banning users from their purchased games. I totally agree if you are an idiot on the forums and disturb other users then you should be banned from the forums but you should not lose access to games you PAID for. If you act like an idiot in multiplayer then naturally you should be removed from that part of the game to prevent you disturbing other users but you should not be banned from the single player game that you PAID for.
Don't believe what he says about Blizzard. I got suspended for trolling on SC2 forums (was drunk I suppose) for 72 hours and I could still play SC2 while I was banned from the forums.thank God both EA and Blizzard permanently ban both your forum account and games

Really? People deserve to lose access to their games because of something posted on a message board? Really?

They agreed to the terms of use. So yes. They agreed to the terms of use. So yes.shakmaster13
Ignoring for a moment the dubious legality of the terms what about the incident where a user DID NOT break the terms of service but he was banned from the forums because another user quoted his name in an offensive post ? The banned user (that did nothing wrong) can no longer access any of the EA games he paid for.
Absolutely no one should be behind this practice EA is pulling, it is wrong on so many levels and just because they try and make it "legally right" by shoving it in the terms of service does not make it right.

This is one of the problems of digital download owned by publishers, and why I hope it doesn't become rampant. It gives publishers way too much power over customers. If someone breaks rules on the forums, they should be banned from the forums but not the game. Likewise, if they cheat or hack in multiplayer, they should be banned from multiplayer but not single player. The punishment should be based on the offense, not just banning the whole account and losing all games.

EA does and its in the EULA that they can and will ban, perma ban your account with the games.
TS3 forums are being used by chrildren and if offensive pics are used then they can perma ban your account which is attached to your games. To post on their forums you have to register a game.
My account was temp banned for trash talking about their software.

This was clearly an error on EA's part. Just like Microsoft banning a user for using their real name on xbox live. With so many users and reporters you are going to get some false positives, just the way the world works. I for one welcome our EA overlords. People need to cool it with the paranoia. Please Log In to post.
