I want to buy a flat-panel HDTV in the hopes I'll soon be purchasing a PS3. This will be for my bedroom and my budget is a small one.

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/allReviews.do?product_id=10884373

I've done a bit of research and browsing and found that tv. It is in my price-range and the smallest to offer 1080p resolution I've found so far. My question is this a good value? Will this be appropriate for a PS3? Is 22" too small to enjoy gaming?

I apologize if these sound like dumb questions, but I'd appreciate any help and adive you cna offer. Thanks.

I'd get a 26" tv. 22" is fine (assuming your sitting close like a computer monitor). I would also stay away from Vizio spend the extra $50 or so and get a Samsung/Sony/Sharp.

Depends on the size of your room. If it's a small room, it's the right size.

that is way too small and you definitely dont need 1080p for such a small tv.

get a decent 32" in 720p and you will be worlds happier, trust me.

I have a 20" CRT tv that I sit 5 feet from and its fine so in terms of a 16:9 tv that would be 26". 32 would be good too if you have the room. Get at least a 26" though.

That TV is not 1080p and does not accept a 1080p signal. It has a native resolution of 1366 x 768 and is suitable for displaying a 720p (1280 x 720) image. No matter what signal you send to the TV it will convert the image to 1366 x 768. The size is fine if you plan to sit about as far away from it as you would your computer monitor (2'-0" or less in my opinion). Vizio if a fine brand. They have a great product for the price. I know two people with Vizios in the 30" - 40" range and they're good TVs.

They are cheap tvs. Next to my Samsung in the store the Vizios had grayish blacks and bland colors.

First off Vizio is a quality Tv. Second the price difference between Samsung and Vizio isn't $50 (no disrespect but your pulling numbers out your butt) it's well over $100 price difference for TVs of comparable sizes and specs. Samsung is better but your gonna pay a premium. As for size you'll buy a 22-26 incher and within weeks are gonna want a larger tv. (been there, done that) If it's strictly for gaming and you sit extremely close then the smaller sizes will be fine. IF you sit back or plan on watching Tv/movies on it you'll want a larger screen. 32 inch is optimal. (trust me)

Now if it'll be nothing more then your gaming screen (no Tv no movies stricly gaming) you may want to look into computer monitors. Less features but also less price. I started off with a 22' HP monitor great for gaming, but not much else. As for your budget your budget is what ever you want it to be If you saved x amount of money you can save/spend x amount more. It might just take more time, it took close to a year to save enough for my Sammy but I wasn't going to settle for anything less.______________________________ Now if (this is IF!!!) your not the one shelling out the doe (mommy and daddy are dropping the dime, once again IF!!! you may or may not be in this catergory) THEN YOU DESERVE NOTHING, get a job!!! (harsh I know)

I was talking about the 22-26" tvs (it also depends where your buying from) and it'll only be $100-$200+ more when you get to the 37"+ area and when your already spending $1000 on a tv the extra couple hundred dollars won't mean anything.

Thanks to zero interest for 18 months on a Best Buy credit card, I went with a 37" LG 720p for $514. I think I did pretty good. Plus I got the PS3 as well.

Not bad, I'm sure you will be very happy with your purchase. Although I'm curious as to how a kid (I presume) managed to get the 18 months no interest on the BB card.

"""""""" I am paying for everything and working my ass off to do so. Proud of it too. """"""""""" Thats what I like to hear!!! I work hard and play harder. Three cheers for the working man/woman!!! The price made you say "Hell, why not a larger Tv." What games you got for the PS3. I got two of the best, MGS4 and Killzone2, next will be God of War 3. Only the exclusives when it comes to my PS3. (also look into COD4: Modern Warfare) Tweek the settings for the best picture, PS3 may not automatically format properly. Tell us you spent a little extra for the Hdmi... Cause the PS3 doesn't come with HD cables,(only standard composite red white yellow and there not HD) any HD cables have to be bought seperatly.

Well I'm 20, so I don't know if that's technically a kid anymore. Financially speaking, it probably is. They had that offer advertised and sure enough I was approved.

I bought Tiger Woods PGA Tour '09 and Bioshock along with the HDMI cable and a second dualshock controller.

The guy at bestbuy tried to sell me a $140 Monster HDMI cable specially optimized for 120hz tvs when I bought my Samsung and all 1.3 cables are high speed 10.2gb/s what a rip off.

I looked at my receipt to see how much I spent on the HDMI cable and they didn't charge me for it! They didn't charge me for the power strip either. That's pretty awesome.
