Ok he has a good rig but iwth a 7600GT. He wants to play Rainbow Six Vegas on better settings like 1400x900.

But he is not rich so. Should he save up and get a 8800GTS 320mb or just get a MSI 8600GTSOC?

He wants dx10 to be more future proof.

Save up for the 8800GTS, or get a Radeon HD 2900Pro.

HD2900pro easier on the wallet and from the looks of it, better performance as well.
