My friend thinks the ipad beats any laptop you get in terms of hardware, is that true(I know the answer I'm creating a poll)
He says its better than modern day laptops in terms of graphics as well.

Your friend is either a die hard, hard core fanboy of Apple products, or your friend is just plain ignorant. Sounds like you wanted us to back you up in the belief that iPad is not better than laptops. Well, all of us are.
Hey no this is not a trolling, and yes i guess my friend is a die hard apple fan. Like a Mac Book Pro is very good for professionals but in india, the top most mac book pro has a geforce 256 mb 8600 m gt, and I've constantly tried to tell him that you can get better notebooks(in terms of hardware) for much cheaper, but no "macs the best nothing can beat it".This can't be serious.
I feel like this could be some obvious trolling...

IMO, apple is popular because (1) they look cool (come on, you have to agree that the ipad looks pretty sweet) and (2) the general public is soooo misinformed when it comes to computers its not even funny. They have very little knowledge about computers....so it makes sense that after years of foolin around with $200 PCs they bought a Wal-Mart they get excited about a Mac that actually has some decent components.
Apple is aight....Im definitely not knocking them. I just think they're overpriced. If you invest the time to educate yourself, you can build a rig that blows any Mac outta the water....and proly for less money.
The iPad is a LOT less powerful, but because it doesent have loads of crap running in the background its extremely efficient at what it does and does things like browsing ridiculously fast!
just to point out that the iPad lost a comparison with an HP tablet that is made at 2003...GazaAliI would bet the iPad is about 100000x more elegant to use though. Also loading it up / browsing would be MUCH more responsive on the iPad!
Remember people why HP have cancelled their Windows 7 Tablet. Even though it was technically a lot more powerful that the iPad it ran like **** with windows on it!

Read poll wrong and picked "yes." Oops. Ignore the second "Yes" and imagine +1 to the "No" category.... >_>
well im sure the ipad coudlnt run the most current mac os at all (dammit i hate it when somethings on the tip of your tounge but it just doesnt come out, this is inrefernce to the name of the os)Remember people why HP have cancelled their Windows 7 Tablet. whilst i was at an Apple sponsered training session for the ipad (work made me go to the coty for alame 4 hour training course) i was browsing the net on the lovely ipad when i stumbled across a news article about ASUS wanting in on the action. they are trying to also make a pad styled product to go toe to toe withte ipad EEE PC style
You are either, trying to troll, serious and have a very stupid friend or you misheard your friend. I really hope its 1 or 3, as anyone who seriously thinks the iPad would perform better than a laptop needs to just go away...My friend thinks the ipad beats any laptop you get in terms of hardware, is that true(I know the answer I'm creating a poll)

Funny how they get all excited and make employees sit through that crap. When realistically you could probably sit down by yourself with an iPad and work it all out within 2 hours.whilst i was at an Apple sponsered training session for the ipad (work made me go to the coty for alame 4 hour training course) i was browsing the net on the lovely ipad when i stumbled across a news article about ASUS wanting in on the action. they are trying to also make a pad styled product to go toe to toe withte ipad EEE PC style

once they gave everyone in the room an ipad to screw around with, i played one race of the racing HD gme (no acceleration control, just purely steering), amd theni spent the rest of my time posting on gamespot:D so most of my posts from thursday 31st of may were done on the ipad ;)
the only good reason to have a macbook is if you travel a ton (you gotta admit apple new battery technology is really cool!) but when it comes to power macs will lose in the first few minutes. my older brother got a macbook, and the salesman told him that playing games on a notebook could ruin the computer in terms of performance (probably true for macbooks) although in terms of hardware the ipad is a load of CRAP!!!!!!!!!!! for rich people.
NEVER period.. an ipad is in the same price bracket as amd powered netbooks which means 1) it has to tango with an x1200 or better discrete chipset.. which it is NO match for.. very tru, it starts to tango with more modern netbooks with 2 cores again owned due to its single hyperthreaded core nature.. very true, it has a lousy touch screen for everything.. very true, no flash support fact, no direct x and as a result opengl support - very true and finally it has almost no memory and a teeny hard drive. SO until i see an ipad that can do all of the above and still cost the same it will NEVER out muscle a netbook.. plain and simple.
ooh i wanted to add a few more:
no upgradeability, no wired internet support, lack of cable ports for wired interfaces to general purpose devices (lcd projectors and the like (but in its own defence it does have infared meaning you get some use of them jsut specific ones.))
finally their just as fragile and in the end weigh the same. while taking up rough the same amount of space.
im sorry the ipad is fail.. its a netbook for those afraid of windows/linux (their are linux netbooks, in fact i own one)
so yeah apple's "reinvention" if the netbook and portable electronic in general is fail. its no better than a comically large palm pilot.

Also loading it up / browsing would be MUCH more responsive on the iPad! That tablet GazaAli speaks of is the HP TC1100 (actually a revised Compaq TC1000). I had one. Only reason I didn't keep it was because I had to sell it to afford a more up-to-date Tablet PC with a Core 2 Duo T9300 and other such things under the hood. The iPad may be less than half the weight and have an optimized OS, but the TC1100 at least has a Wacom pen that makes it useful to me, as well as the ability to run OneNote (and anything else that runs on desktop Windows). A tablet computer should be able to replace pen and paper. Too bad the iPad only really replaces one of those things. (Before you bring up a capacitive stylus, I tried that already. It's workable in a pinch, but has nothing on Wacom's EMR pen tech-especially where palm rejection is concerned.) Unfortunately, HP hasn't really bothered to update the design, instead opting for more typical swivel-screen convertible tablets with the TC4200 onward. (Before you mention the HP Slate, it doesn't have the TC1000/TC1100's distinctive detachable keyboard, nor will it be likely to have Wacom pen capability.)

That would the equivalent of saying that a Scion TC has more horsepower than a Corvette Z06. I think your friend has confused presentation with actual specifications.
Your friend is an idiot, i recommend you disassociate yourself from him.markop2003lol apple fanboys dont understand us, they're too busy trying to come up with positive things about their apple product to get over the gui;t of wasting that HUGE amount of money

good to see a fellow car fanatic! but i think a more typical comparison would be a mustang compared to a koenigsegg. evryones like "OMG ITS A MUSTANG LIEK TEH FASTEST DRAG RACERZ IN TEH WORLDZ"!!! lolAlthough the Ipad is priced way more than a laptop, its not made to compete with a laptop or even a netbook whatever Mr Jobs says. The touch screen on them just like the iPod is the most responsive touch screen I've ever used, its not light but its not heavy either, it feels right. From a technical stand point, the iPad is beaten and raped by everything else on the market par the iPod but for ease of use and general looks, it stands head and shoulders above the rest.
