Well my friend has a micro ATX Motherboard becaus it was cheap. he had a single core but i bought him a cheap dual core becaus it was allways using 50% of his CPU for no reason.

1 reason is this. he had windows XP SP2 but when he upgrades to service pack 3 it uses 50% of the CPU even idle.

I have installed fresh a windows XP on his pc about 10 times. and each time iv done it when i upgrade to service pack 3 it dose the same thing.

and now i install windows vista on his PC and it dose the same thing.

has this happened to anyone? is there a fix? its getting really annoying becaus my friend is stuck on windows XP SP2 and is not able to update at all. when he dose the problem returns.

Then don't install sp3 :?........I haven't encountered this problem, the family PC has a matx board with on-board graphics and dual core AMD CPU.
