Is it a hard drive password (black background)? Or is it a login password (colorful background)? If it's a login password, you might have some luck (if all else fails you can reinstall vista). If it's a hard drive specific password, you're probably not going to be able to use that hard drive ever again.

My advice to you is to make him give you the password. Beat him or something, don't let him punk you like that.

Ok, thats good. Try reading this

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/102005-reset-user-account-password.html

system restore might be the safest and easiest of the listed solutions.

I was under the assumption that he typed in a random password. If he knows the password then there should be something you can do to get it out of him.

Download a program called ophcrack, its free and legal.

You need the livecd, just pop that into ur cd drive and it should find ur vista password.

easiest option is to either take it to a computer tech and get them to remove the password or download the Hiren's Boot CD and run the password removal tool off that

I would beat my brother up for that, need to show them who is Boss, and let them know if they ever do something like that again they'll get a fist full of fury.
