Todays game are rough on system requirements based from RAM:

minimum required: 512mb

recommended: 1GB

optimal: 2GB

i have 1GB of RAM... is this enough or should i add more memory stick?  I want to play high quality and high performance on my games that i play.

It depends on your GPU and screen resolution. If you have an older card and a 17inch screen, 1gb is fine for any game you xan play. Its when you start cranking up the res and settings that you need more ram.

Depends on what games you play and what the rest of your system specs are. Running with 2GB of RAM and a 8800 would be very good, but if you are still using a AMD Sempron64 3000+ (s754) CPU, your CPU will lower your performance a lot.

More is generally better, but if other parts of your system are holding you back. More ram won't help you. Still I went from 1GB to 1.5GB and noticed improved performance in games like BF2.
