I've been living with the original MS Intellimouse Explorer (yes, the first intellimouse that MS came out with) for the last seven years or so. I haven't found much need to replace it since, in fact, my search for a new/better mouse stems from recent frustrations with Call of Duty multiplayer. I had been playing version 1.3 of CoD and doing fine. I patched to 1.5v and now I can't hit @#$$! Anyhow, its time for a new mouse. I didn't want to go wireless, but most high-end mice are going that way. The two I like most so far are the Logitech MX Revolution (wireless, several scroll wheels, buttons galore) and the MS Wireless Laser Mouse 6000, which is an odd fist shaped mouse with only 1 scroll wheel, 4 button mouse. I didn't like the location of the scroll wheel on the 6000 (i thought is should be under the thumb-grip rather than pushed to the side). I have big hands so I want a large mouse. I've checked out some of the Razor mice, but wasn't in love with them. I have a Windows Vista machine...any other pointing device recommendations from you gaming folk? Thanks.

i have the wireless laser mouse 6000 right now and its great. its good for a lot of things and the batteries don't run out quickly. when i bought it, it was still expensive. but if u can find it cheap, then get it! just my 2 cents.

If you're used to an MS mouse I'd stay away from Logitech. The eyes are Logitech mice are off-centered and it's almost impossible to use if you're use to an Intellimouse Explorer.

WTF are you talking about, Logitech is the best and after a few days he will be used to it. I love Mx 1000, is a great mouse, you will not be dissapointed of it.

Thanks for the reponses folks. Budget wise, I'm willing to pay whatever it takes to get the right mouse, that said I probably wouldn't pay more than $200 for a damn mouse! I did check out the G5 series from Logitech, but the MX felt better in my hand and has more buttons. For the person who owned/uses the 6000 MS, is the mouse accurate enough? Anybody else had a problem with tracking with mice in FPS multiplayer games? I tell you, there are times when I swear the sighting recticle is right on the enemy and I'm still missing the shots. It shouldn't be a lag issue either. I've been getting pretty good pings (under 100).

I too have the MX1000 and find it unusable in games. I tried to use it for a month and it just doesn't work. The eye never stops reading because it's off centered. Right now I'm using a $5 mouse that is better than the MX1000 until my new intellimouse explorer gets here.
