It was long past time to replace my 13 year old dell 8300 machine, and I just got back from the shop with my brand new box. Here's the specs. Case- Cooler Master K282. CPU Intel Haswel i5 4460 4 core3.2ghz, 6mb cache. Motherboard H81M ddr3 support. Memory 8gb ddr3 ram, heat spreaders. ssd 120gb ssd. Graphics gtx 950 2gb gddr5. Wind 10. What do you think? As someone that doesn't need a maxed out overclocked box, don't be too hard on me. I know it's not top of the range, but at $1200 it looks like everything I need.

Um at $1200 your getting ripped off big time... unless you live somewhere like Australia

CM K282 under $100

i5 4460 cost $190

H81M motherboard around $50

8gb ddr3 $50

120SSD under $70

GTX 950 under $180

Win10 is free with old copy of Windows 7/8 or $100-$120 new

So you spend $1200 on upgrades that cost under $640..... For 1200 you could have built and or bought a top of the line gaming PC.

Yeah I'm down under, but not Australia. New Zealand actually, and all these parts are pretty much twice as much as the prices you guys have put down. I could have looked around and bought everything individually but it's really no cheaper. Computers are expensive here, but what can you do? If you want something bad enough, you just have to pay. It's not the best, but it will do for me. at least I can add to it. My old Dell has a AGP motherboard with a 7600GT video card. No trouble playing the old games like Command and Conquer, but no good with the new ones. It might be old but it's still going after all these years. I'm a little bit sad to see it go actually, I get a bit attached to things that I've had for a long time. I won't throw it out, it can go in the garage for now.
