About 45 minutes ago, I finally finished gutting and repacking my PC with new componants.
I put a new MB, memory, PSU and added a second video card. Here's what I'm working with now:
- AMD 64 X2 5600+
- ASUS M2N 570i motherboard
- 4GB DDR2 800 memory (Yes, I do know that with my 32-bit XP I'm only getting use out of about 3.5GB and I'm ok with that)
- 2x 8800GTS 640MB in SLI
- 160GB HDD (kept my old HDD, will get a second bigger one eventually)
- 750W Cooler Master PSU
I spent about 3 hours swapping things out and putting things in my PC, but it's finally done. With everything running at their stock settings, I pulled a 10893 3DMark06 score. That's almost 3000 points better then what my last PC could do.
So, I'm sitting pretty for a while to come before I'll even have to think about upgrading.
Oh, and for anyone that is uncertain about building a PC, it really isn't that hard. This is my first build and everything went smooth.
