My New Crysis Mario Level-Updated

Well I've been wanting to do this for a while, but i never got to it until now. I have a couple things left to do and then ill release it. Id appreciate it if u can let me know what u think. If u have any reasonable suggestions ill take them into consideration.

uh well yeah i was running it at 95 fps on very high and thats abnormal for my ussual 14-45 fps.

so it should run on low end pcs.

They mean Crytek no longer patches Crysis.

Patches fix glitches and stop hacks. Crysis's online mode has too many of both.

It is great fun I admit, but it needs patched.

Most companys patch games for years, Crytek patches theres for a few months -.-'

And they stopped supporting it mid-way through their latest patch, which promised to fix every problem in the game. D:
That said, the game is still one of the best FPSes on the PC and I loves it. Can't wait for Warhead.

On the subject of the map, I think it looks really good. The castle looks unfinished though. If anyone hosts any games using it when it is released I'll definately play it ^_^

Crytek's support of Crysis was pathetic (Although EA might have something to do with it). They patched the game a few times (as in twice and there are still issues) then left its multiplayer to die while they whip up a new expansion. It's hard to believe they want me to purchase a "story" expansion with a barely any new content. I bought the game expecting a fun multiplayer and it's utter crap with all the hackers.

I'm not right now I play Crysis at 1024x768 on high and it still lags a lot probably my cpu.

wow, wel ldone, that is great. Brought back memories lol. Keep at it, i hope you make more of the game's levels.

Thanks for all the comments. All thats left is the trees, water fall, finishing touches to the castle and terrain, a warp pipe, fences, door to the castle, and fix the uvw maps.

I wish i could make mario a playable character but that is way beyond my capabilities.

Have you thought perhaps of remaking Clock Town from Majora's Mask?
Just throwing that out there, although that would require a LOT more work than this map or the ones you said there :P

That was very well done, although the sounds of the guy running were really beginning to annoy me after a while, but that's the game's fault :P

I just finished some terrain fixes and a added somethings to the castle. Ill keep on posting my progress.

for the record, your framerates are so high in your map BECAUSE the environment is so simple. The environment is what chugs up peoples computers, not the gameplay itself. Crytek should have had "turn on/off" environment settings, like acitve foliage, remove animals and planes stuff like that would have done a great deal to make the game "playable" for those whose systems could not handle it. most of that was just fluff anyway, that way shutting them off, it would have allowed for players to raise the graphics levels, and still get acceptable FPS, they could at least see the great textures in the game less the "fluff".

So your level is a great idea, and could make for a great mp level

typically if it's not used for profit (free for all to use), and it's custom (created from ground up by him, no code was used from Nintendo) there usually isn't a problem, it's typically considered fan appreciation/art.

Though I have seen some exceptions to this (i.e. the Dragonball universe is always having problems with fan created content)

If he is interested in protecting himself, he could always try contacting Nintendo's PR dept, and see if there are any guidelines he must abide by, and if they don't respond, well, he made the attempt in his defense.

Yeah, it's definitely your cpu. Crysis is pretty cpu dependent. You need a dual core for sure and I would say at least like 2.6 GHz. Or maybe get like the Intel Q6600 and overclock that to 3 GHz.

And regarding the the third person view thing its only possible to be in 3rd person in the editor by pressing F1.

There is a mod though which makes the game 3rd person. Its called gears of Crysis.

I suspect there is a console command to, google it. Otherwise it might just be only applicable in the creator.

I have almost finished the level. Theres like 3 things left to do. Add a waterfall, a cannon blast trigger, and make the cones for the roof. Oh i might remove the trees for preformance reasons if enough people tell me to. when i added them my frames dropped from 95 to 65, and with fraps 32. Ok well heres the link to the vid (I remembered this time)
