Well your Grahics needs a major upgrade but you'll need to consider if your dell system will support it since its a branded computer.
In the future you better of make your own computer but anyways lets get to my advice. Your graphics should go for 4890 HD or if you can still find one the ATI 5870, they're pretty amazing plus their sexy price. try and find a better version of AMD phenom, as you have a AMD socket motherboard meaning you cant put intel i5s and etc on it.
With the extra graphics and maybe CPu you'll need to check out your heatsink/cooler and see if it sgood enough plus you PSU and pray to god that DELl has made this computer upgradable to a significant extent.
Well good luck hope my advice got to ya
Thanx, You say it needs a major Upgrade, I am playing Arkham Asylum at a Lower Res but I still think it looks great. I forgot to mention I am not a serious gamer. I think a Graphics card Upgrade with easy install any cheap price would be cool, How do I tell which ones plug right in to my PC??duster6666Contrary to popular belief you can get a very nice gaming computer quite cheap. Your computer only needs a PSU upgrade and a GPU to be put into it. A graphics card is also very easy to install.
a hd 4850 is real cheap down here in australia, got one months ago for $150AU, now down to $130. Plays batman:AA super smooth all on high on my core 2 duo e6400.
if u rly dont care that much, u might be able to get a lower end gpu than the 4890 without having to switch ur PSU. first check wat PSU u have.
My PSU is 240 watt. I have been looking around and it seems the lowset is 300 watt that the graphics cards will take. How do I begin to see what PSU will fit in my system? I am think a PSU and Graphics card still possibly cheaper than a console plus Way better I think. HEY This question might not belong here but What is the Norm on Backing up game progress incase of problems with the PC????
What about this???????????

id ditch your psu stat for something in the 500+ watts for longevity (retail for 25-45 dollars)
and then if cheap is the issue here the hd 4670 has no substitue and will do any game you listed on medium or better.
ill give you some idea as to where itd sit..
WoW: 76fps avg on ultra settings no aa or af @ 1440 x 900 resolution
dawn of war 2: 45fps avg highest quality physix off no aa or af @ 1440 x 900 resolution
bioshock: maxed out with 72 fps avg maxed out with full aa & af @ 1440 x 900 resolution
batman arkham asylum: highest no aa or af @ 1440 x 900 resolution yeilded an avg of 45fps.
I actually managed to get my old GTS 250 to fit by taking off the massive plastic heatsink holder and cutting part of it off, as well as rotating the heatsink under it and then prying off two of the metal PCI bays. There's a lot more to it, but I don't think I will bother to explain it unless someone asks..I hope for your sake that it's not a btx case (like my dell), which would mean you could only fit single slot gfx cards.

THE PROBLEM IS FINDING A PSU TO FIT IN MY SLIM TOWER. I am thinking of running an external PSU. I work in a Metal Fab shop I could make a box up for it. i am new to this I need to find one that will work with my Motherboard My 250 Watt has these I think
ATX 24 pin
p4 x1
SATA x3
Floppy x1
You fell into the dell trap. If you're to buy any computer that's not pre-built go with HP or something else. Dell and eMachines are some joke of PC's. Dell always puts in very lackluster power supplies in most of their computers. I had two dell computers go out on me quite some years ago. Now I build my own computers after learning how they work by taking apart my first computer which was a Dell Dimension 2400. That said, get a new power supply, (add 1 more gig of RAM) and get another graphics card. >>they're pretty cheap now for mid range ones. Look on newegg.com or something for power supplies. They have a vast array of them.THE PROBLEM IS FINDING A PSU TO FIT IN MY SLIM TOWER. I am thinking of running an external PSU.
