I have had my computer for four years now and it has been great most of the time. But i must admit it struggles with some of the newer games. I mostly play the strat games. Blitzkreig, faces of war, rfb, codename panzers. The video card i have is old but it still manages to keep up just. It is the nvidia geforce fx 5200 128mb. The computer is a dell 8300 with 2.6ghz processor. With 512 ram. Any ideas on a upgrade card. I was thinking the nvidia 7300Le, 7900gtx, 8600gtx. If compatable. If i just walk in to the shop i imagine they will try to sell me anything just to make a sale. So i will see how i go on here. Thanks Ivan.

2.6ghz p4? Best I could suggest is another 512MB of ram, and maybe a 7600GT assuming your FX5200 is AGP based and not the PCI counter part. Otherwise you are probably just wasting money on something that needs a complete overhaul. Meaning your money is best spent on a new computer.

i agree as well or if the rig is that old try upgrading everything maybe 2 gigs of ram as now a days most games need 2 gigs a bigger power supply, change the mobo thats what i would do if i were you but if you just want a new card go for the 7600GT

any time you have to change the mobo, you should consider the costs of mearly building an entire new system.
