So in a rush I went out and ordered a new one...but now after I've already placed my order I'm finding out some parts may be incompatible. Does anyone know if all of this will work together?

http://m.newegg.com/Combo/ComboDetail?comboid=1488775&combotype=2

with one more stick of ram

http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16814127707

What I'm afraid of is the gfx card not being compatible with that crappy PSU.

Your links aren't working for me, can you list the parts?

Well, unfortunately I already placed the order but I have a 750gb, 500gb, and a 1tb extra and I'm now getting a new 500gb one with my order.

If my memory serves me correct, you can cancel the order and start over, it's a hassle, but it's the only way if you don't want to eat that PSU. Otherwise you will have to buy a better PSU.

@Importz2k1: Well, built from the ground up it ends up being exactly the same amount of money as if I were to buy a PSU along with this that I already ordered. Will the computer run even though the PSU is crappy? That's my question.

I'd say just use this as an opportunity to learn from the fact that you ordered first and asked opinions second.

Make sure to tell 2 other people not to do that and maybe this won't happen anymore.

The GPU should be fine with the PSU. The only reason people are saying stuff about the PSU is that its not a great 500W. That PSU has 1 6pin connector, so if you are getting a 660TI you will need to get a converter.

Roughly this should be it:

Everything will work together but that PSU needs to go. The makers of that PSU in your case is Deer and they are known for making cheap PSU's that go out with a bang and sometimes even take other components out with them.

All in all if the case is still good it's still not a bad deal to get a $50 case, don't use the PSU though either order a new one or just go pick one up at a local store.

@Arthas045: Oh absolutely, and I know that the thing is horrid and I am planning on replacing it in a month or two but for now I had to get something quick and on a tight budget because the semester is starting soon.

Another quick question, do hard drives take a lot of watts and can I put 3.0inch drives into the 3.5 inch slots on the MoBo?

@Croag821: Absolutely. I am planning on getting a new PSU in due time but I'm extremely tight on money at the moment.

@Napkin4TheFace: The wattage on HDD isn't very high, so if you want to add another to the build you are fine. I am not sure what you mean by the second question.

In fact when jonnyguru reviewed it, one of the transistors blew

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story3&reid=65

The test five results should give you a pretty good idea why the crossloading tests weren't done. Quite simply, right after test four was begun, after recording the data and scope readings, the Allied exploded. And I'm not talking about the quiet pop of a blown fuse either, this was something to make one holler things like, "Incoming!" "Honey, I'm so scared, what's happening?" and, "You'll never take me alive, coppers!" This was accompanied by a light show to rival the best Hollywood pyrotechnics displays. I distinctly heard Mother Nature yell out, "Now that's not fair, I can do lightning WAY better than that!"

LG Internal Super Multi Drive SATA Model GH24NSB0 - OEM

For 64$ I'd get Corsair 200R case.

Please don't throw away 150$ on MOBO unless you go with K CPU and/or more than 2GPUs and/or extreme RAM speeds. (it's your choice but I'm trying to save you a 100$)

For 60$ you can get pretty much 1TB of HDD with 64Mb buffer (Seagate/Western Digital, your pick)

Other than that everything looks legit

EDIT: Wait, is that a 500Watt PSU + Case for 64$?! unless you want to throw your entire rig to trash in a year or so don't use it for god sake.

Get some normal PSU from Corsair/Antec/SeaSonic 430-500Watts is all you need for now.

^ cheap powersupply wont likely damage anything... worst thing that will happen is it may die unexpectedly.. maybe, or be a bit less energy efficient then a more expensive one... and even that is questionable... i've used dirt cheap power supplys and never seen the power usage much different then premium ones.

i been using a cheap Ultra case 400watt powersupply in a security monitoring pc for almost 3 years and it runs 24 hrs a day non stop with cpu usage about 70-80% all day long and no computer components have died and the power usage is not anything higher then expected. and the power supply was actually cheaper then the one your using.

500watt should run all ur stuff fine i think also. if you try to overclock your cpu you may run into issues but maybe not.

that video card says it needs 140w, and ur cpu will only need around 100w at max, then that leaves a good amount left over for the motherboard and hard drives to use what they need. hard drives at max will need 15watts and less then 3-5watts at idle. probably the optical drive would use similar power as the hard drive when its being actively used. lots of room left on that power supply i would say.

@PredatorRules: Right now, I'm just on budget. I didn't have the money to buy top of the line items so I had to buy okay and cheap. I am planning on upgrading in a short amount of time. The problem was I needed a whole computer at once but I am able to buy the parts individually with time easily. The power supply will be replaced ASAP, which means like a month or two.

@nicecall: Okay thank you for the reassurance. Although I wasn't worried so much about the wattage, I was more worried about the amp rails being compatible with the card.

But when you take a risk and the worst happens your shit out of luck. And nicecall is completely wrong, yes a power supply can fail without it damaging components, but it can also fail in a way which may damage components, just depends what goes bad.

Again up to you, your computer your life.

That PSU has a fuse though. It's wired wrong, it will explode first and then the fuse will trip.

It might not damage his components... might
